Thinking about doing a regear, do I need bigger carriers?

 

No you shouldn’t

 

Curious, my Jeep had 3.73’s and it needed new carriers to get to even 4.10. If they are needed I might as well throw a locker up front while I’m in there.

 

Badass. I asked Chris a buncha questions and just a simple ring and pinion wouldn’t require a new carrier unless I went with carrier/lsd since it replaces that anyhow.

 

Lockers front and rear? I might have to get stuck again!

Stock 373 and stock 410 for 2nd gens have a different front carrier. You have 373 if you're v6. You would just have to select the correct gears for the front when shopping.

I’m looking for 4.56, any recommendations? Does the rear need to change?

 

Have to do the same front n rear, so 456 for both. Nitro, yukon, US gear, Revolution are all good sets. ECGS has good prices. Depending on how many miles are on your truck, you may want to replace the diff bearings. You def want a solid pinion spacer for the rear. If you get any lockers, consider both elocker and air locker. Harrop blockers run about 1100-1400 while ARB air is about 900 but you have to have their air compressor which is another 500-900.
