Can you swap corner-lights, grill and headlights from a 98-00 4WD onto a 97' 4WD? It appears as though the fenders are the same; just the older front end is more grill than lighting at the headlights and corner-lights. If so does anything need to be altered with the radiator support or would the 98-00 radiator support need to be installed?
    Thanks,
    Fish

Fish - Welcome to TW!!! Are you from Colorado? I had a friend in high school that we called Fish...

In any case, I don't know about your answer as I have a 2nd Gen Tacoma. On the otherhand before I got involved with internet forums, I would go to a "U-Pull-It" yard (aka - Junk Yard) and try the combinations from one vehicle to another. You can usually find two trucks to experiment with.

One caveat - if you remove parts and don't buy them, put them back with the vehicle they came from (for the rest of us looking for parts)...

What else do you plan to do to your truck?

    Cheers!

Thanks guys and thanks for the warm welcome, I really appreciate it. The truck in question fell through and I'm still on the hunt. I want a V6, would love regular cab but definitely think I'll end up with an extended cab since the first generation V6 regular cab's are so highly sought after.

007Tacoma- Not from Colorado, I'm from Delaware and live in Philadelphia, PA. Since I'm still without a truck my plans are in flux but definite needs are; bed racks (renovating my house) and making the stereo iPod friendly... by whatever means necessary.

Funny how different people like different things. I just bought a used 98 and the previous owner swapped hood and grill for a new model, maybe 2001 to 2004 as someone mentioned from my photos. I like the stock 98 hood and grille better then I do the ones a few years newer. And the fact that the grill on mine is bent and the hood coveted to look like carbon fiber. I just don’t like it. I hope you find the parts you’re looking for.

I don't think you're going to hear from them, this thread was probably one of the first threads made on TW 12 years ago lol

It sounds like the previous owner did an 01-04 face lift on your '98...it's a fairly common swap in the 1st gen community, a lot of people prefer the 01-04 front end over the 98-00 one. Shouldn't be too hard to swap back though if you aren't a fan of it, but of course you'll have to source the parts for it.

who knows, maybe he'll get an email notification that reminds him of this thread and it'll make him a TW regular again....$100,000 in mods later he'll loathe the day he ever joined this site back in 2007

LOL .... I didn’t even think to look at the OP date. I think it’s time to take a breather and stop reading these posts. I don’t know how I even came across this post. A good laugh for the night.
