    Too few to list.
I learned early on that Toyota's lug nuts have a low torque value since I snapped a few bolts on our 2nd Gen 4Runner. I was used to working on Chevy's at 140 ft lbs.

Gnarly man. I had the same thing happen to me on a lofted dodge I had. Luckily I heard a rotational squeak and checked everything before the wheel fell off and found loose lugs. I hope it doesn’t cost you much!

He’s got a sheared stud and probably some other issues. That wouldn’t be safe

Missing a stud and dragged the rotor on the asphalt 20ft with the weight of the front end on it...yeah I wouldn't risk that either lol.

That has to be seat sucking experience. Glad you didn’t get into an accident or the tire cause one.

Had a buddy lose a 40” tire doing 60 mph, and like you didn’t find it amusing one bit. He did a little research and found all his lug nuts were over torqued and weakened the studs. He replaced all 25 studs. That was fun in the middle of a nice cold Colorado winter day.

Any chance you know someone with a car hauler and a bigger tow rig that could help you out? If we lived a tad closer and in the same country, I would sure offer.

Good rule of thump, for cast iron/steel your should have 1 - 1-1/2 times the diameter of the fastener for thread engagement. If you used an impact tool to install them and followed with a click style torque wrench and it clicked immediately, then chances are they were over torqued. How much is any buddies guess. When ever you use an impact tool followed by a torque wrench the socket/nut must move before the wrench clicks.

This is what I think happened too, if I remember right the OP said his wheels were put on with an impact wrench and then checked with a torque wrench. I bet they were way over tightened by the impact and damaged the studs and/or lugs.

I would only use an impact to remove lug nuts. Best way to put them on is to thread by hand and then use your lug wrench to tighten, then finish off with the torque wrench. Takes more time but it ensures they are done right

1.5 hour tow is probably $500- US and that's the course I would take.
Tow it back to your home body shop.
Rent a car and return to the cabin.
Or, Just stay at the cabin and have arrangements in place to transport your family home after the vacation is over.
EZPZ. It's already at the tow yard so have them tow the vehicle to your Insurance Companies Collision Repair shop. Submit the tow receipt with your deductible.

That sucks man, glad you're ok, could've been a lot worse. A few weeks ago someone pulled out in front of me and hit my Tacoma, gonna take about $5k to repair but insurance is handling all of it. I would definitely try to get it towed to a shop back home by your insurance and have them handle it. If they're asking you to find a local shop, try telling them there is none and see if they'll work with you. Good luck.

New lower control arm for sure, I wouldn't trust it after that. New bearing, new rotor, have the knuckle checked to make sure it is still straight and not borked.

    Sorry brother :goingcrazy:

The same shit everyone else has.
Eh. I’ve run aftermarket wheel on every car/truck I’ve owned. Some with wheel spacers, wheel adapters, and even filled/redrilled wheel hubs.

The trick is to make sure everything is hub/wheel centric and you’re using the correct lug nuts/bolts/hardware and everything is installed correctly.

Don't blame incompetence on the wheels. Obviously something did occur during the installation of the tires and wheels. It was a mistake. I torque all of mine to 85-95 foot lbs. They are all aftermarket wheels that are aluminum. Stuff happens, learn from it.
