Had them for a few months now, think they were one of the first sets. Basically came down to a trade between me and GFC, I'm no IG hero.

Lucky as in we got to rip ours apart and now they still work?? Haha! Replacing the hinge was pretty easy, rewiring my light setup was not. But, it all came together and worked perfectly on my last week long trip.

I might be adventurous enough to grab one of these hurricane hinges just to see how it works, mostly because I don’t have whatever sealant on my GFC (what is that stuff by the way??). The picture on their site doesn’t give much as to how it functions or the range of motion

For those that have their campers, would you trade the side flaps for a solid aluminum design if it were 100% leak proof.

Me either. It’s what sold me on this vs other designs.

Nope. But I'd pay more money for a panel that is guaranteed not to leak. Come winter time if it is still an issue I'm going to pursue custom solutions.

With that being said, full access via the side panels is an absolute game changer. I wouldn't go back.

I'm getting leaks on both front corners (by the cab) somewhere where the panel meets the frame. I can even see tiny holes of daylight if I look close enough.
I also think it is a oversight that you can't use the side panels as awnings when they are fully open in the rain. Since the corners of each panel are pushed higher than the middle, the rain runs down the crease as a gutter and slowly drips towards the middle of each panel. I found this out the hard way during a storm.

I think that's my biggest complaint as well. I was really disappointed during the first rainstorm.

The hing limiter is a good idea, I was planning on doing some silicone on mine this weekend.

So you guys are saying that using the side panel as an awning to escape the rain is not a good idea? When you have the side panel open rain flows into the bed of the truck? That's disappointing. Is this only on some campers because In the video below Hatch Adventures advertisers that the side panels can be used to escape the rain. Min 2:05
