Here you can bait deer but not bear, which is bass ackwards as fuck but whatever. I'm not a fan of baiting anyways, but baiting bear makes way more sense

Deer do just fine on their own. I get it, it makes it a lot easier, it's just not for me for hunting. HOWEVER, I got tired of the deer tearing up and eating all my garden so I blocked it off and got a block for them instead, they haven't touched it. But they do still come around anyways

    Thanks!

For sure I could barely see a spec of white on the target...

I’ve got my bow dialed in ok with new strings and helical 4 fletch arrows. Either it’s right where I want it to go or I had bad form.

Well you can never bait in VA. You can put out stuff until Sept. 1 for camera pics but it has to be gone on Sept. 1. The one county I hunt has taken it out altogether though. I do it for picture purposes not to hunt unlike some states allow.

Yes, deer do just fine on their own however, diet has a huge impact on health and genetics. Look at the size of deer, both body and antler size throughout the country. This is a direct result from diet and habitat. There are no negative results from providing minerals and supplements to any particular deer herd. In my earlier statement I didn’t imply that I wanted to hunt over bait or minerals of any sort to make my hunting easier, in fact I’m against it. I live in West central Illinois and we have some of the biggest deer in the country thanks to corn and soybeans. It is legal to hunt over such fields and it is also legal to hunt over food plots. For those of you who think that hunting over crop fields is easy or unfair, try guessing where the deer will show up on a 50 or 100 acre field. For the record, I have been deer hunting for 45 years without a citation of any kind.

Deer will pretty much forgo other food sources when there is a decent mast crop. The property I hunt is about 800 acres. 200 is farmed, either corn or soybeans. There is always a fair amount of hunters setting up along the field edges. Me, I'm a quarter mile from any field, set up on the oak flats and ridges. The areas deer are feeding in an hour or so before dark.

Michigan does that in the lower part of the state. You have to use 450 bushmaster, shotgun, or pistol calibers.
