yea I had to beat the crap outta the pinch weld, and trim off some of the fender while on tail so it would stop grabbing the tires. Forgot I had to massage the fender a little more as well after that though.

I said screw the fender flares, looks cleaner to me, I don't need a re gear yet but before the comment below I'll need to do it

he is right you know... I'll probably be on dirty fives next set, then on to dirty sevens if I feel the need to cut more

Yeah, 35s is forsure the end goal, maybe 37s one day. Would be interested in marlin cawlers "mar-rack" at that point.

Im having the debate of buying 285/70s or 285/75s, i was leaning towards the 33"s to stay away from the excess trimming until i can afford the regear (and lockers). Its going to be several years before that. The 34s were really a mid-term solution and... Well cut once cry once lol

20190705_081611.jpg Can anybody suggest someone to fab a rack for my military trailer? I basically want something similar to my Allpro rack that's on my truck with a few minor changes. Would like to find someone between Colorado Springs and Walsenburg.

If you have a chop saw and a welder it’s pretty easy to make one out of square tube. I made this one for my trailer with no prior experience really.

We can do it, but we’re a bit farther north than your wanting. We’re in Franktown.

I want it to match my Allpro so I can swap mounts from one rack to another depending on which rack I need it on. Also my welding skills leave much to be desired, last time I used a welder was I think in 2006 and I doubt I'll have improved in the time that's passed.:welder:

without going and testing it myself, would anyone know how high a lift you can get before the stock jack becomes too small and a hi lift jack is needed?

The stock jack doesn't reach the frame with stock height... So this is more dependent on your tire size than lift.

That being said, on my 1st gen, I can still use my stock jack with a 2x4" block underneath with 32" tires.

they have their place. bottle jacks dont cut it if your broke in a rock garden, super off camber, have 47" tires. cant use a bottle jack to fix a tie rod.
i carry a highlift and a floor jack. best of both worlds.

I am wondering as well. I have CV boots to replace (probably @Littles and @lambo do as well), LCA bushings, and some other things.

@thefatkid I believe it’s time to change the transmission fluid in the Sequoia. Does the dealership drain and fill or flush? Local shop wants to hook it up to the machine and flush it.

What’s the right way with these sealed transmissions?

Or should I just save a lot of money by doing it myself with a drain and fill?

i agree, you can try to get to a safe spot, but in my experience on a 1mile trail of vw sized boulders (hammers in Johnson valley) you cant always spend 12hrs winching to a "safe spot".
trust me i would drive out with a bunk tire if i could (and have, toasting a few $600 tires in the process), just changing a 47 on a lift is a pain in the ass. much more on a wobbly highlift on a trail.
i was referring to a solid axle for tie rod repairs. not gonna work on an IFS. cut the highlift and weld it to the fuked up ends and you got a fairly strong tierod. very uncommon need, but worth its weight in gold on the trail.
there's a time and a place for the good ole highlift.

Good thing I came out to question why you are running the path straight into the fence.

You’d make a great hobby fab shop
