I don't actually own a Tacoma, or even a Toyota! But I'm activily looking. Looking for either a 98' to 00' Tacoma or a 96' to 00' 4Runner with a manual transmission and 4x4. Since I can't post a wanted ad for the first month of membership :(, I figured I'd start here.

This being a Tacoma forum, I imagine most of you will say to go for the Taco. But is there anyone out there that thinks I should go for the 4Runner instead? Thoughts?

    Cheers!

It is all about what your usage will be. If you plan to haul stuff that isnt into the trailer realm, but you dont want inside the truck, get a taco. If you will never haul anything like that, or plan to have a small trailer, get a runner.

    OME and worth every penny.
You'll prob. find the 4Runners more easily. I still see deals pop up with them but never a Taco.

Maybe because their frames don't rot so there's more of them.

I have a 68' C10 2WD I use as a "farm truck" and am on the line to buy my neighbor's Dodge 2500 diesel 6spd (when he's ready to part with it, could be years though) so I have been leaning towards the 4Runner as a cargo / people transporter... but .
