I’ve lived in FL for 19 years and its got some bat shit crazy stuff also. We are thinking about heading back North I can’t do this heat and humidity anymore.

If you want out sometimes you just gotta say screw it and do it.

Better give it a few years, the way the climate is changing you might be safe where you are.

I almost did about a year ago... and then I ended up getting my house a mile from the beach, and now I really can't leave. I just love the ocean too much. Couldn't do Florida with the crazies there and the humidity and all that. Dealth with that enough for 5 years living in Hawaii.

Also true. Got this place called Fiesta Grill that has THE best grilled fish tacos I have ever had.

Ordered the 40# bag of pellets... no knife today, I just looked at my CC statements from the month and they say no-no to buying a new knife right now. I'll have to get another blend of a 20# bag though from the local shop if I want to do a brisket this weekend sadly. I should have enough for the first half of the smoke though anyways so it probably won't be too bad. I will likely wrap as well

I feel ya man. We sold our house in MI last year and came back to FL (wife is from here) now she hates the weather and wants to go back. Didn’t buy anything here so not a huge deal. Miss our house up there though we had it custom built.

Where in Michigan were you living? You sure you're not my uncle? He and my aunt put their house up on the market (they lived in Birmingham) and bought a place in Florida this year too  They still have a house on Torch Lake though

I did a ton of work for Juniper Networks years back and spent the better part of 8 months in Cali. Guy that was there working with me and I would go all over the place on the weekends. Had some damn good food in Cali. Now I have to say I don’t know how y’all deal with the smog and the ground rumbling though.

    Yes, this is true.

I use the faux vide method though.

Drop the frozen vacsealed bag into a pot, cover with water, bring to a slight simmer for 10-20 minutes.

Makes for super easy, really tasty weeknight meals.

:rofl:Nah all my nieces and nephews are still in single digits or early doubles. I lived in Fraser, grew up in St Clair Shores just down the street from Lake St Clair.

LMAO. So I got my friends address in AZ to see if Rural King would ship pellets. It's the same fuckin cost as 4 bags of pellets! $35 for the 4 bags and $37 for shipping

Ouch. I know all too well how crappy shipping is. All the laser etched stuff we send out I hate telling people how much shipping is.

Not too far at all then from where my uncle lived then. The houses in Birmingham are insane. The lot across from my uncles is THREE properties. They bought all 3, tore down, and built one giant monstrosity there. I'll see if I can find the picture on my phone. I'm sad though that they're moving. Me and my dad go up in December to visit and to watch a Lions game and Redwings game and stay at their house. Not sure if it's worth going back to Michigan in December though if family isn't there  Although, we do usually get taken care of by mine and my dads investment manager for the games

It’s a good place. Lots of good people once you realize MI is all like what’s seen on the news about Detroit. We usually do a tailgate for a Lions game in Oct. first time in 5 years last we didn’t get to one. Missed it. Good times.

Ya Grosse Pointe has the tear down some old really nice houses and build a McMansion thing going on. Sad.
