Nice catches! I need to drag my butt to the mtns and start fishing. Have the stuff to start but it’s like a 2 hrs to get to a decent trout.

Finally a thread I can participate it since I don't even have my truck yet....lol. I am from the SE corner of British Columbia and fly fishing is what I do! I am aiming to have my truck purchased by the end of October and one of the main reason is so I can spend more time down forest service roads chasing fish. Couple photos from the past.

That’s a bow, and not the same white tips yo. I’m still saying brookie on the other pic, but I’m no expert. Sadly I couldn’t tell you the last time my line has hit water.

It looks like browns I catch in CO so I just assumed it was a brown. I have no idea what it was lol. Ate a price nymph is all I know. Looked a lot better than the bow I caught there, the bow had a really messed up jaw.

That fish is definitely a brown. Yellow underbody with black and red spots is brown everytime, bigger ones start getting a hint of blue on the gill plate as well.. Brookies have yellow spots and pink spots with a blue halo around it on a dark green body. The only brook on this page is the quoted post at the top.

So the easiest way to tell a brookie from a brown, all other features aside a char has light spots on a dark background and the other trout have dark spots on a light background.
Also vermiculation on brook trout back :)
