Just a bunch of old crap
Ok, so I've been one of those who has kept my factory floormats in my '06. I just like them. After a few trips to the car wash, the guys who vacuum the floors have proceeded to rip both of the anchors out of my floor carpet. So... I have "floating" floor mats which I am constantly adjusting every time I get in the truck. And no, I'm not getting my gas pedal shaved down because it's too damn small already.

Well, 3 days ago my gas pedal actually got stuck under the corner of the mat after I mashed on the pedal to merge onto the freeway around a minivan. I'm sure glad I had some extra room to adjust because let me tell you, there was a split second of panic but then I regained my composure and reached down to pull the mat back which solved the issue right away. Shook me up.

So, to make some use of my Amazon Prime membership, I ordered the laser fit WeatherTechs and I can't wait to get them on Tuesday. I'm just excited to spend some money on my truck for something that I've wanted for a while, and now I can justify the expense to my live-in female financial advisor.

Note: Don't be a dumbass like me if you don't have the hooks intact on your driver's side floor, or if your mats move forward too much at all. Get the WeatherTechs, take out your floormats if they move, or get your hooks fixed.

I surely hope you learned your lesson....

    Wash the truck yourself. :D

And everyone doubted Toyota's theory about the floor mats. :p

glad you didn't get hurt...but you will enjoy the Weathertech Digifits...I know I love mines...:D

I didn't doubt them...I just never had a problem because my anchors to hold the floor mats were always secured...

its those people who added wally world floor mats on top of the factory 1's that were getting stuck...now days people are just looking for an easy pay day...

See, this is how that situation SHOULD play out for an event like this.

    1. Oh holy crap
    2. Regain composure
    3. Solve obvious problem
    4. Take action to prevent problem from occurring again.

Well done sir. If only more people were like you.

Glad you made it through ok. I've had this happen in a different vehicle before which is why I got Weathertechs ASAP. What color did you get?

I get the hand wash at the place across the street from my house so I can sit there and watch them. They do a pretty decent job actually (a different place over by my work are the ones that f'd up my mats). It saves me about 2 hours of work and then I just roll home with the hard part done and I do the finishing myself. It's too friggin hot outside still to be doing detailing.

I dont mind dropping $10.99 on a basic interior/exterior so I can do the finishing myself.

I have grey interior so I went with black mats because I hear the grey weathertechs are too light. I wanted the contrast to match with the black sidepanels and dashboard.

Good choice.. I got gray and it actually does match pretty well. Too well, IMO. They kind of disappear into the interior... wish I had picked up the black ones.
