Yeah so if that's the case it's totally because of the land sale and not that BS American adventurist is claiming.

It seems like there’s validity to the private claims, though I talked to WTA this morning and was told she had a ranger on the ground on that trail as were speaking.

The whole thing is proving more complex than I initially thought but it seems the one consistent is that this jack off is lying

The trail probably stayed open for this long because it wasn't worth the $$ for weyerhaeuser to go and close it with heavy equipment. Now that it's sold, it was either a condition of sale, or a change brought by the new owner.

Wta is more of a hiking trail organization, not off-road trail. Most timber land allows non motorized use, and frowns upon motorized use unless you pay for a motorized access permit. There's quite a few areas like that around here. The one thing they all have in common? They were all at one time or another owned by weyerhaeuser. :anonymous:

This makes sense. Someone was saying it closed June or July (can’t recall and the posts got whiped) due to this reason but wasn’t able to confirm the claim

Ok that makes sense. I told them (both the company and the wta lady) I was part of a Jeep club (sorry did it for simplicity) but she might have misheard

@Lost In The Woods have you heard anything about the land transfer out that way by weyerhaeuser or hancock?

Keep in mind that Weyerhaeuser is a huge company, they own about 1.4 million acres in WA alone. The likelihood of the guy answering the phone knowing the details of one specific trail on that land is pretty slim.

Agreed, that’s why I’ve tried to emphasize the wta interaction over the phone call with him. The only reason I even bring it up is because he said he knew the area

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
Nope. That area should be Weyco land. Plum Creek use to own it, but Plum Creek merged in with Weyco four-ish years ago. I do know that none of the Weyco offices really want anything to do with that area (along with the upper green) due to how far out they are from them. Without spreading speculation, there's a number of reason they would close down the trail. First and foremost Weyco, along with every timber company in Washington, is not into off-roading. Too many "bridges" have been burned in the past. If I remember right the timber in that area is fairly small, but you never know. Also, I don't think that road is an orphan road, so they may need to do RMAP work up there. Really there's a lot of reasons they would close it down. Also calling the number on their web site will get you the front desk, and more than likely, they have no idea as to what's going on.

Thanks for the info! As for the call, it wasn’t a front number desk, it was the number on the land acquisition form. He was actually surprised I had the number and asked how I got it but was super friendly

There is a mine claim up there, the trail is not classified as a actual trail. It a old mining road that never got closed off. There are private property signs all over up there. Last summer when I went up someone tore the shit out of the road. To where its going to cause a slide this winter. Also a bunch of cardboard and news paper left on the beach part, probably someone trying to be nice. Alas that part of the lake is normally under water. Soo i really would not be shocked with big tank trap and lots of fallen trees across the road.

People neglected and trashed someones private property, the principal is what matters here.

A lie with a good message is still a lie. People suck, but spreading false information to get a point across isn’t the solution.

So it’s a private mining road then? Or am I misunderstanding

It's private bottom line, not open for public use or a sanctioned trail open for everyone to use as they wish.

Just feel there were better ways of handling this situation than spreading a blatant lie that these Jeeps got an area closed down. If it’s private obviously they have no business being there, and the message would have been received the same without the need to make something up. Ya know? Don’t mean to come across as I’m defending these knucklehead Jeep owners
