    yeah that's how I had to do it the last 2 times, sucked. Which is why I keep putting it off now lol.

    Actually the 2nd time I had the opposite problem, the main eye was pressed up against the frame inside the mount and I had to use a big pry bar to push it down hard with one arm while trying to fit the bolt in with the other. Also not fun

    when that happened, I secured the ratchet strap around that second one (pic) and latched onto the tow hitch. A couple of clicks and it moved the shackles down and to the rear which pulled the eye back into place.

    Honestly though, to do it right and still maintain safety - just pull the entire pack off the truck.
