Fuel issue

    Not sure what I have going on but here goes. Seems my fuel pressure bleeds off after turning engine off. I have changed injectors and regulator. Did not have this issue until engine swap. I have pulled fuel rail and left injectors hanging with fuel line hooked up and watched and it does not appear injectors leak after key is turned to off. Runs smooth as silk when is starts and runs. When the gremlin happens it seems like it wants to try and run but does not get enough fuel so just sputters and dies. U can use start fluid it it will fire up clear up and run. The injectors pulse and spray fuel as the should. Odd thing I have noticed is when I turn key to on the pump does not run. It runs and pumps fuel when u turn to start continues to run for about 3 seconds when returning to key to the on position. Verified this sequence with the coils disconnected. Ever other vehicle I have worked on the pump runs when turning key from off to the on position

    I believe on these trucks the fuel pump only kicks on after x amount time or seconds the starter in cranking unless it's running

    If your not seeing or smelling gas it might be leaking at the fuel pump allowing it to drain back

    Smelling or seeing any gas ??

    Might be chance it happened now.

    It is pretty hard to hook up the lines wrong but it can be done .

    These engines only energize the Circuit Opening Relay when cranking or the engine is running

    I eliminated the egr and have NOT soldered in the diode to fool the ecu so my cel is on. Could the egr circuit be causing a fuel issue?

    directly, no. When the CEL light is illuminated the PCM goes into a differernt "map" for timing and injection.

    Hooked up the vsv and no more trbl starting. Just plugged in the wire and ran two vacuum lines to the top of the throttle body. Problem solved.
