When my unit was refurbished, the entire tent/extrusion was lifted and sealant was put between the extrusion and frame. There were also little metal pieces placed at each of the corners. This seemed to eliminate the leaks although I haven't tested how it works in heavy rain with the panels raised.

My camper was one of the first with the new sealant process, and it’s been in some pretty heavy Portland rain. I have seen no more then tiny drips inside my camper.

I just got mine 3 weeks ago and with the sides open in the rain I get lots drips at the seam between the door and hinge. I'll try and take a picture next time.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one because I was told that the source of the leak is that it is slowly dripping down from the outside edges....when I believe it is coming through the panel/hinge connection while opened. Do you have the new sealant on your GFC?

Yep! It's super disappointing. I was number 249. New Sealant, two inch mattress and new tent material.

Just out of curiosity, are all of the hinge failures on the side panels? I would think the rear panel, which gets much more use, would be the first to go.

Depends on use case. I use my driver side panel way more than my rear. My rear is blocked by my swingout bumper, while I use my side panel to access my fridge, grab climbing gear/skiing gear, groceries, etc.

    Any pics of your limiters?

Mine was the driver side hinge. I use both sides equally, but the rest far more than the sides. The rear hinge does not have the same flex as the rear corners do on the sides. I’d bet that had something to do with mine splitting, and the others.

Sorta OT... does anyone know how to get in contact with or reach Hondo Garage? I feel like I have left a number of emails with no response.

    Thanks for posting that thread.
Now I understand what might be going on at Hondogarage/GFC and the lack of communication on order shipments. Sounds like all hands on deck reengineering design changes and getting over the learning curve of a new Haas, not to mention tooling.. I guess that’s the drawback of liking them damm robots! They don’t answer phones, reply to emails or ship purchase orders... lol

Wow! That was fast. How did you lift the extrusion to insert the hinge and sealant? The actual bending section of the hinge looks about 1 mm thick. Is there some sort of fiber to strengthen it or is it pure plastic?

Someone with a razor knife could break-in in about 5 minutes. I wonder how many opening/closing cycles before the hinge fails?

I was quoted 5 million cycles, during my install.

    That's not enough.:D
    Tell me why they're failing?
On mine I can already see sign of fatigue in the form of a small crack lengthwise.
