Does new roof rack mean the newer track type mounts?

Yep, there is a guy on TW making a prinsu like rack that is cutout to follow the lines of the GFC. I'm planning on mounting my solar on there to keep it from blocking the translucent top of the GFC.

What ever happened to the cantilever rack that GFC was testing? I saw a couple pictures of it coming directly off the front of the camper at about the same time that they were testing the beef rack, but haven’t heard anything since.

Was told during my install that they abandoned that. Too loud and a few other reasons I can't remember. I was bummed.

Too bad, seemed like a good concept. You would think a fairing would solve the noise problem.

I wish they’d keep up a blog or send out a newsletter to keep people up to date on stuff like this. I was looking forward to that rack too.

They had 4 or 5 blog posts on the original website too. Hopefully they get back to it. Mine should be ready in a month so I’m hoping they at least have the new roof rack ready by then.

Yes and no. They aren't releasing them to the public yet, but I keep seeing more and more new racks on Instagram. It's a shitty deal for loyal customers that have been waiting for months, then a new truck pops up with a GFC and the racks. It makes me regret giving up on Instagram two years ago when it turned to shit and I had 40k.... Oh the good times.

I hope they have lol. I blame the Silicon Valley mantra of building up a growth business with no profits and banking on some low probability of a new market emerging. To be fair they have delivered a lot of campers compared to the competition, but I just took a gander at the deliverable list and they haven't broken 300 yet and it's been 6 months since they hit 200. They have a long way to go and the list keeps getting longer...I wouldn't wait on accessories with them to be honest, I'd count on other companies filling the void.

On that note for those with rusty tubes they quoted me mid to late August for the new aluminum versions. But he did note that the replacement will be "complicated", aka PITA.

Four days ago he also told me mid August. I'm hoping they will be ready as predicted so I can stop at the shop and gave that and any other upgrades they want to do applied.

Luck you being that close. Unfortunately I'm 40 hours away, so gonna have to suck it up and take the whole top end apart. If I can get them before Sept then should be able to install before salt season and give them a good testing this winter.

Anyone fluid film the inside main frame yet? Are there dedicated areas to hit? Or just pop open all the side hex bolts and go to town?

Maybe a good time to retrofit hurricane hinges while the tent is detached from the space frame? I am seeing my rear/tailgate door hinge start to pull/stretch on one side and am worried it's going to suffer the same fate as a others hinges. Also, the window zippers in my tent are already losing teeth and I have pin-holes where the bungee cord at the front of the wedge attaches to the tent sides.

Pretty frustrating to have things like this wearing out after less than a year of use - including months of very limited use over the winter.

I don’t blame them at all, the moderators caused half the problems in their TW threads.

Hopefully this means they will start communicating what’s going on again like they used to do on here.

I’m just lucky that their timeline coincides with when I’m driving down from Alaska.

I sprayed fluid film inside the main frame through all the bolt holes. The early ones like mine came without bolts so I sprayed and then added the bolts to seal it up. There’s been no sign of water intrusion into my main frame tubes so far.
