Last time is out there we played, "guess how far away that thing is."
    Avg. was 5-7 miles.
Ugh, it just felt like it went on and on

Nothing like the time I walked out to see what the dog was barking like crazy and a big male was about 15' away. That'll wake you up!

I'm having the hardest time deciding which ARB compressor to get. I don't plan on getting air lockers. Would probably only use it for tires. Maybe a blow gun. That says the single to me, but then I think I should prepare for future possibilities. So I go back to the double. And then I see the price.

Just get the double. I wish I went that route now instead of trying to save some $

That's usually my after-purchase thought as well. I'll probably pull the trigger this weekend. Now on to my rear bumper decision..... Thanks!

Have you thought about one of the many Viair kits, Be it a stand alone compressor or one of the set ups with the tank and all?

Just asking for the hell of it.

I have debated this (ARB, Viair kit) for years in another vehicle. Finally realizing that the only air used was for tires. So, the cheapo superflo MV50 hit the bill.

It's a valid question. I have thought about them. I looked at a couple of their on-board kits and they were half the price. I have quite a bit of experience with their stuff from installing air suspension on a few cars, so that part is good. I looked and looked and the lazy hit me. Their compressors don't fit very well where I want to put it without a lot of trimming. That part was doable. And then they recommend a tank. There's not really a lot of room underneath the truck to mount one. There's probably easy solutions for all of this. I just don't have a lot of free time to fabricate stuff, or the energy. There were some other installation concerns that I wasn't willing to dive into. What finally turned me away from ViAir is the fact that I already have one of their pumps. I think it's the 88P. It works okay, but it was super slow, and it got so hot that I burned my hand on it. That was filling four tires from ~18 psi to ~28 psi.

So I went back to ARB. Expedition Essentials makes a mount that goes in the rear cubby AND wiring harness extensions to go with it. I also have a 10% off coupon, so that helps. Just seemed like a faster solution in the long run. That and just in case I DO decide to add lockers in the future, it's possible. I've been very wishy washy with stuff for this truck because I do need to maintain the utility of it.

Of course it's also possible for me to change my mind before even making the purchase. :D

I made a Viair 450RV fit in a Jerry can...it holds all the tire filling stuff too.

That's impressive. If you hadn't said anything I would've thought it was a store purchase.
