In regards to wether or not to buy Ovtune, My computer skills are crap. That was my biggest hesitation. With a ton of research and help from some of the guys here on TW, My Truck runs so good and has so much power right now due to Ovtune that I no longer let my wife drive it. I've put a couple of hundred miles on a few of the tunes. Commuting, Towing, Traveling over long distances up and down Big Mountain passes. I found the tune that works best for my truck (each has a mind of it's own as most of you know) and it just keeps getting better every week/tank. My 2 cents. I bought quite a while ago so I don't remember if there was a big delay in shipping/actual getting the product but the Tune difference should make all that angst disappear rather quickly. And further more, You can bolt on Exhausts, Cold Air intakes,Shift Sense, Pedal Commander, etc. and it won't make any changes compared to the Tune. And... is their any other Tuner Tuning the 3.5L Tacoma?

 

Hell I'm still on 1.03 91 oct. and it’s still the best thing I did. I’m waiting to get my ECU tsb from b03 to b04 done then flash a 91 performance tune with 2.0 at the same time when available. Should see some amazing results that should be equally as good or better than going from stock to 1.01, 1.02 and then 1.03.
I’m sure 2.0 will be light years ahead of 1.03.
It’s worth the wait and whatever issues we have to sort out to get these improvements. Perfect...? What is..?
But I could not imagine ever going back to stock tune.

 

i like that plan, to stay on 1.03, do the TSB, and jump right into 2.0 when you get it. amazing results, yes.

That's gonna have to be a big negative on that one.......DP is a pig anymore and don't wanna imagine factory tune performance...

 

Kinda strange we haven't seen a post from anyone flickin' crap about Mat's "Fan Boys" or whatever it is we're called for being happy with our Tunes. Guess the days still early.

 

Honestly I’ve been so busy and just too lazy to keep up and try every tune. 1.04 and all the iterations after plus it’s been so long since I tuned to 1.03 that I know I’m going to have to update, and figure out how to re-teach myself the current steps for tuning and not being very PC savy I know it’s going to take a little time to figure things out so that’s why I said might as well wait for all the new goodness to drop then I’ll be forced to get with it and update..!!

 

I'm still waiting for the key! Bought the license on July 9th. And still dont have anything! I've done my 4.88 re gear and at this point I feel like someone stole my money.

 

You will get what you paid for and I’m pretty sure your going to be very happy and feel it was worth the wait.

 

I'm local to you and would love to hear this when you get it complete... I like the sound of the Gibson but want to hear it at interstate speeds and with the dump tubes and 2.0 to see if downshifting is all but eliminated on the interstate at 75 where drone would kick in.

I had to bounce back down to the stock tune due to some errors putting me into limp mode on 04B31 (Break Override Malfunction / Throttle Actuator "A" Failure). Mat said he has a fix, and with that, I honestly cant wait to get back to a tuned truck. It drives so much better than stock!

 

Patience is a virtue.

I'm pretty sure that if any of the members who are upset at the time frames actually knew the small business auto/truck custom parts aftermarket (small, not car ID, not Amazon, not Summit, etc), they would understand the time frames. Have a little patience. Also, think of the work that goes into all of the products OVTune is working on, then top it off with a newborn. Cut the guy some slack.

You will get your tune and you will be happy with it.

I think Amazon has us all expecting Prime delivery times no matter where we order from.

 

On that, I remember hitting refresh a few times a day when buying something online from the start in the 90s. USP, FedEx, and USPS tracking was never detailed enough for me. And yeah, Amazon cranked that up to 11.

Just a bit of understanding gratification helps reset that perspective, like you said.
