Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

Is there a benefit to applying the 04 TSB along with the OV tune? If so, would one need to flash back to stock before the TSB is applied?

 

This can only happen to me! I did the identify, downloaded the 91 base tune.
Went to Flash it, but when it went to select files for flashing there was nothing to choose from. Any ideas what I did or didn't do? Thanks

 

What did you try to select? You may need to check one of the other years for your calibration ID. As long as you have the one corresponding to your ECU that’s all that matters, the rest is purely organizational

 

You may have downloaded it to a wrong directory.

 

I had to select a 2017 because the 16 didn't have an 04b04 code. Ill keep trying. So why doesit tell me to copy the calibration code and send back to OVtune? This is the 3rd time I sent him something. Am I getting ahead of the process before all the tune is finally sent to me?

 

To the hesitant ones, doing quick math on when I got the tune, (dongle), with my average monthly miles, the mileage increase has paid for more than half the tune cost. The rest has been paid in full with the fun factor of having the tune. To those with all the patience of a lit fuse, it's worth the wait, Mat is a stand up guy & doing all he can. I get the feeling you might be my bosses at work, the ones who have no concept of what's required, the time needed for the work performed + the guy deserves a home life. If the wait is not for you, buy a OTC tune & see if you notice any difference in performance. And let's not fail to mention the plethora of TW members here running the tune that try to help out folks with install issues. You guys are quick to help, thanks

 

I'm curious is the ovtune just going "out of stock" for temporary since the newborn or because you plan on releasing something new? Or both?

 

To catch up pending orders, tickets, troubleshooting issues, and to release something new after all of that.

 

Not sure what directions you are following but the only thing you need to send is the system id. Once you’ve received the registration file there’s nothing to send.

He doesn’t send the tune. You get it from flash manager.

 

I’m so confused. This dude @Bartlett18 has a 4.0 and bought a OVT package. Didn’t know you guys were offering a 4.0 option.

I think you can't get the latest 1.05 update unless you have the tsb, but not sure.

No need to flash back to stock though.

This is a directory problem. On the flash manager click on Tuning/Open download location. Make sure your downloaded files are in that location. You probably have to cut and paste them over from your downloads directory.

 

I'm running 1.05 with the 03 TSB

 

How do you update to the 04 TSB with techstream?
