Already did, I called AEM and spoke with Caleb. He says he's "investigating" the code and will get back to me. So we'll see

Starting to pull the core and passenger apron off. Reminds me of all the fun I had drilling out the bedsides on my 02 :bananadead:

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
progress is being made i see. i have an audi sitting in my garage right now with the engine torn apart.. otherwise id have the 3vz-fe cams in mine already. the caps are off. old cams laying in the engine. @st andrew this is the 3vz-cams in a 5vz head. the notch has no affect on it. in all reality it looks like all the mounts are on the 5vz head to make use of a 3vz distributor (wouldnt clear the firewall in the truck though)

Finding these spot welds to be much easier to get centered for some reason. It'll be easy to get a the parts from a scrapyard, but I'm also finding that I'll need quite a few batteries for the cordless drill to do it

Hey Leon, I'm going to be going with the 01-04 hood on this truck, but I'm thinking of going with a glass hood. I've never looked at one in person for the Tacoma so not sure how your kit would work on them. Wondering if youve had any experience with them and your kit. @SpikerEng

I'm not familiar with those, but I would expect it to work fine. We'd need to make sure it has reinforcement geometry similar to the steel hood. And also if the hood is significantly lighter, we'd get you struts with a bit less force output. Should be easy peasy.

Yeah I'm not sure if it has the supports. Tryna think who has glass hoods. And what about the rivets. Are there "softer" rivets so the glass doesn't crack or are standard ones fine. Sorry don't know much about rivets lol

Rivets should be fine. Let me know once you know the manufacturer, I can dig a little further.

What about you @j0shu4 I know yours isn't a McNeil or Advanced but what's the underside of your hood look like? Refer to the above posts to know what I'm talking about lmao

Had a look at the McNeil website, they don't show any pics of the underside. Reading the description, it might be significantly different from stock, since they mention no hood latch and need for hood pins. Maybe worth a call to them to ask? Feel free to PM me and we can brainstorm some more.

For sure, I'm going to hit up some more people with glass hoods and see if I can get some more info

And I ground down the glue muck on the firewall, the spot welds don't seem to show that easy but it should be fine
