How do you dry your truck?

A 100% cotton bath towel. I make sure that the wife (or sometimes me) doesn't add fabric softener to the load.

 

I use a REAL shamy towel, not that scamWOW

 

The best thing I've found so far. A damp Chamois leather. Rinse it out with really warm water then wring it out then use that. Man is it ever work great. Try it. Leaves no spots. Can do my entire truck in about 5 minuets.

Any Chamois or microfiber towel will work well. It's best to get the towel moist before starting, and rinse clean if it picks up a lot of dirt your car washing left behind to minimize scratching. You'll probably do more damage trying to wipe leftover dirt off the car than by leaving water spots to dry, but drying properly with the towel will eliminate water spots and those irritating little patches you might have missed with your brush.

 

I'm not about to read through 14 pages of posts. I use a California Water Blade. It's like a squeegee (sp.?) but soft enough to conform to the contours of the vehicle. It does a great job in a fraction of the time it takes to use anything absorbent. I usually go around with a clean garage towel and get any small spots that it missed.

Pretty sure I got mine from Target back in high school, so I've had it over a decade and it hasn't worn out at all. I just wouldn't recommend using it on a dirty car.

 

Hand wash, rise - (clay bar and wax about every third wash) and mircofiber towel...or a real leather shammy for quick wash and dry - when I dont have two hours to detail it out. Remember to always step back and take a look at Tacoma sexiness! My truck seems to run better after a nice wash.

 

i just get on highway and go 55, it will be dirty again in 2 days, don't see the
point in all the detailing on mine.

 

Just washed and dried my truck 2 hours ago, with a leaf blower and went over it lightly with microfibers. leaf blower is amazing!

 

Same here. I did wax it about a week ago and what did i do three days after? Went offroading and found some mud.

 

what seems to help for me is a good coat of wax, avoid the sun either early morning or late afternoon and use a few hand me down cotten bath towels.

 

use an absorber and keep a microtowel in pocket for what the absorber leave behind. I agree that a good coat of wax on the vehicle and no sunshine makes it easier.

there's no option for a real leather chamois.

 

Not sure if anyone else uses one but I use a leaf blower. It really blows the water out from all the nooks and crannies, around the lights, mirrors, doors, etc. Works quite well.
