Broke a lug while tightening my nuts today. It didn’t come off, but it’s definitely loose on there.

I’m guessing my only option is replacing the whole hub?

I know there was a member in jersey selling hubs with timbren bearings, is he still on here?

Also, I have a good 3 hour trip happening tomorrow, will I be good running with 5 lugs?

I think you can just replace the stud on it.

I would still run it for now, just no crazy speeds or wild ass turns.

So I looked at the hubs, and they look a bit worn, so I figure I’ll just change the whole hub and bearing.

From what I’ve been reading, the guy from jersey is iffy to deal with. So does anyone know where I can get OEM or damn close to OEM hub assemblies for a decent price. Toyota wants me to donate a kidney and 7 kids apparently.

How many miles are on your truck? Seems a bit early to need a whole new hub. I also wouldn't plan on doing the entire hub and bearing assembly right before the trip just in case something goes wrong. Your best bet is still doing just the stud, both economically and time wise. My dad has done it on his Subaru twice in the last 7 years and never had a problem with the new stud. Fairly quick job as long as you have the tools.

Truck has 144k miles now. I have no idea if the previous owner ever replaced the hub prior to me owning it. From the looks of it, most likely from the factory. I’ve replaced literally everything on the front end (shocks, UCAs, LCAs, rotors, swat bar links, inner and outter tie rods and even the steering rack) so far. Just not the hubs. I did a 30 mile drive today since the lug break hitting around 60mph and didn’t notice anything. So the hub replacements would be done after I got back

Well in that case yeah it wouldn't be a bad idea to do new hubs. 144k seems like a decent bit of life out of the factory ones. Good luck on your trip, and drive safe! I think you should be alright as long as you don't have to carry a load or do some hard turns.
