I had a green '88 4Runner. I bought it from under a tree with half the drivetrain in the back/hatch area. Fixed it, drove the crap out of it, sold it at a profit. Fixing the title was a nightmare.
It had a cool set of tires, bfg mud terrain I think. 31X9.50X15 I think they were. Fit the truck really well.

I gave up on fixing the California title of my 5-Lug and just tagged it in Vermont.

Titles can be a biatch in some states. California is definitely not easy if there are "issue's".

It's about time they brought the dark green back for the Tacoma, I'll never understand why it was so short lived on the previous gens. It's almost like Toyota figured it would outsell every other color in the long run and they just couldn't have that for some reason.

Really the only reason I didn’t go through with it is because it owed about $3,000 in backfees from the three years it sat untagged and went through two owners. I had the Bill of Sale and that’s all I needed to get Vermont’s equivalent of a title.

Here’s a good video explaining it.

That's really good to know. Last year, I had to go through the process of getting a "Bonded Title" for Subaru that had its paperwork all jacked up. The seller left the country and went back to China so we couldn't get him to produce a notarized document to clear up the mess. The bonded title let us get the car licensed and titled. After 3 years, the bonded title becomes a regular title. It took some explaining to the potential buyers that a bonded title was guaranteed by the bonding company and not like a salvage title. After fixing the head gasket problem and giving it all new gaskets and hoses, we sold it.

I don't know if this would be the answer but I would try renting a cooling system pressure tester. Maybe you can put the system under pressure while its cold and see coolant leaking.

I rented one from O'Reilly a few years ago. The catch is to be sure to test it before you leave the store. The first one we tried wouldn't hold pressure.

Just a thought on something to try.

After removing the wheel spacers last weekend, I burned less fuel this week during my usual commute. I haven't made a mileage run yet. I know I need to do a formal mileage test.

Am I just dreaming or would removing spacers help improve mileage? I feel like I'm rolling down the road with less resistance now.

Not sure how much difference it could actually make, but having the tires actually in the wheel well would be less wind resistance than the wheel/tire sticking an inch and a half out of the wheel well and creating drag. I'd be surprised if their isn't another factor besides removing the wheel spacers, that's contributing to better mpg, it's a big assumption that your mpg has improved as well. I know I've had a few tanks of gas out of the blue, even same filling station and pump, that for whatever reason was deemed by the heavens to be an eternal supply of petrol. At least that's what it tracked as somehow. And then I can never duplicate it, a weird fluke of crazy good mpg tanks of gas

Well my dad has been tossing around the idea of selling it here lately. This morning he seemed pretty dead set on letting it go before the next big issue pops up.

We looked on the typical for sale sites for ideas on pricing. Absolutely no one has a truck as clean as ours. Most are lifted, trashed interiors, rusty etc. The mint condition ones are going for mid to high teens. Ours isnt mint, but its mostly stock with a clean interior, just needs a paint job to top it off. 197k miles, hes thinking of listing for $7k and expect to get around $6k. IMG_20160228_144932533.jpg

This is the first weekend in a while when I didn't have something to do to the Tacoma. I'm not sure I know how to act.

Now I need to start caring for the other cars. I need to change the oil and ATF on the Civic this weekend. Yuck.
