Yeah that’s a good rule of thumb. I’m young and dumb, let me be young and dumb for a while haha.

Fair, being old(er) and dumb has its drawbacks.

Just go sell some more horns.

People get their feathers ruffled if you question their financial decisions. Quick way to get the mods involved.

Got a quick vacuum line question...

So I was replacing all my vacuum lines this morning and replaced this one from my intake plenum to the booster. This is just a regular vacuum line correct?

    FBCF51A9-70D1-4FDB-A76B-BCF62ED52930.jpg

I only ask because it kind of looked like there was a lining on the inside of it, like fuel line. It was also rock hard, so it could just look like that since it’s hardened so much

Some thicker vacuum hose is fuel line so it’ll have that webbing.

Take a look at the vacuum hose routing diagram on your hood. O’ Reilly’s sells good quality vacuum hose that thick.

I thought the same but I'm pretty sure its the cab moving, not the bed. The 1" poly mounts exacerbate it I'm sure.

So finished up replacing all the vacuum lines, or at least every one I could find. Went with this hose kit from Silicone Intake Systems and had plenty of extra hose left over. Even changed out my washer squirter lines.

    https://www.siliconeintakes.com/liquid-air-adapter/silicone-boost-vacuum-hose

I did cut a fuel line on accident because I’m stupid. Not sure why the two hard lines leading into it didn’t tip me off prior.

Below is the leftover hose, tools I used, and all the old hose. I would recommend getting a box of various hose clamps as several of the original ones won’t fit over the silicone line.

Did you use fuel injection clamps and fuel injection rated hose on your repair?

This thread is a fire hose that is hard to keep up with and going to end up costing me $$ on mods. My wallet says hello... I fuggin hate all of you.

    @Uphillshunter
    https://youtu.be/fX_5c5oRdcI

At around 3min, the flushness thing, imo costs a lot of efficiency. Maybe get some thin weather foam trim to line it with? Rolls of perfect sized adhesive backed rolls of it at HD and Lowe's for doors.

Air flow through cooling systems is an interesting science. Learned in my autox days from other people's setups how sandwiching coolers was better than having space between them, that front shrouds should have a smaller inlet than the surface area of the cooler etc. Little details that mean a lot in regards to actually getting air to go through fins rather than around them/elsewhere.

I used fuel line and some screw hose clamps for the piece I cut, not the silicone line. The spring clamps that were on there before were a little to big for the new fuel line to clamp it down.

Spring clamps huh? Must've been a return line, low pressure. Well either way you should use these when repairing fuel injection stuff, these keep you from pinching the line like worm clamps often do.

I like the design of those, i'm gonna look into them

It was a short line that goes from a hardline under the brake fluid reservoir to another hardline between the #4 & #6 cylinder spark plugs

You can actually see one half in this pic, it has a little holder attached for the #6 wire

I added a B&M transmission cooler to help keep temps down with the added stress from the recent supercharger install. It's the biggest cooler they offer so there wasn't much room between the core support and winch. I removed the stock core support and made a new one out of some flat strap to make room. I made a couple little brackets, ran the lines and had to remove the grill to get it in there. Might move it over later to get a little more air flow, but this work for now.20190726_172149.jpg 20190726_172153.jpg 20190726_172200.jpg 20190727_161431.jpg
