Speaker Install, Whats needed

So I read through a couple threads and am still unsure of exactly what parts I need. I plan on installing tweeters, front, and rear speakers myself but have someone else install the speaker amp for me. I have
Front: Rockford Fosgate R169X2 and Rockford Fosgate R1T-S
Rear: Rockford Fosgate R165X3
I also have Metra 82-8146 Speaker Mounting Brackets and 50 feet of 18 gauge speaker wire.
Looking at Crutchfield now it says the tweeters will not fit so I'm probably going to return them in exchange for something that does (feel free to suggest tweeters you like).
I was also told by the guy at my local audio shop that Tacomas don't need mounting brackets for the rear 6.5s, just want to confirm whether or not that's true because I believe I have seen people with speaker mounting brackets for both front, rear, and tweeter. I like the idea of plug and play so I believe I need two pairs of Metra 72-8104 Speaker Wiring Harnesses and also one for the tweeter?
Just want to make sure I have everything I need before I start the project.

 

Need to make some tweeter brackets for the front. Lowes and HD has that little sheet metal aisle - a 12" by 12" piece of 1/16" sheet steel would be fine (and allows reuse of OEM fasteners). You can make some quick brackets by tracing, using tin-snips to cut, and drilling holes. Use the OEM speakers as templates. A better sounding bracket (without any ringing) will be made from 1/8" plywood or ABS but will take more time and skill to make.

If you are modding, suggest picking up a Alpine power brick amp to breath some life into those speakers.

 

I have a 600W kenwood amp from my previous car that I plan on having someone install.
So if I made my own brackets I could use the rockfords I already have or do I still need to get different ones?

 

You need mounting brackets for the rear speakers as well.

 

Mount tweeter in sail panel . If tweeter not to deep . To me sounds better too . Need hole saw though. No tweeter fits(r&r) .Need to make bracket or put in sail so no need to return .Might want to put cross over though .Consult crutchfield .

 

You have new head unit already correct ? You can install speakers now with existing wires and install amp latter .At least you get an idea what it sounds like .

 

I recommend live chatting with crutchfield and ask them for a "complete cart." They hooked me up. They gave me new brackets for front and backs in those same sizes.

Yeah I bought them through Amazon and wish I had bought them through crutchfield instead.

 

Return it and go through crutchfield. It'll save you a ton of headaches. I did all four of my speakers while I was on a conference call for work in like 35 mins.

 

Did you do tweeters too by any chance?

 

Crutchfield rep was extremely helpful and got everything I need to install myself. They also had tweeted mounts which I wasn’t expecting and Posi-Pod wire connectors which should make the tweeters much easier to wire as well. Thanks for all the help guys

Try search . People also just cut out old tweeter from factory one and mount after market one in place

 

How did you wire these up?

 

Running alpine 445u amp but using factory wiring . Running factory wires to cross overs . Need to watch out were you splice . I believe it goes to tweeter 1st then woofer . Forget which one first . You splice wrong one you wont get sounds . Then just go to other wire to splice . Sorry if confusing . Been awhile

 

Are the tweeters plug and play? or do I need a harness too
