Side mirror adjustment - how do you...

Ive always set mine as wide as possible, but so if I lean a little I can barely see the side of the vehicle. Like the video.

There are times where backing up, I have to adjust the mirror down and in to see what's lurking below, like a large rock, drop off or small animal...

 

If you set them so the side mirror are looking straight back, you are essentially driving with 3 rear views which doesn’t make any sense other than that’s what people did when they first started driving and have since become comfortable. My parents do that and it drives me nuts. They won’t change it because “that’s how I’ve always set them”.

Side mirrors and rear view appropriately adjusted=minimal blind spots.

 

I set them up so I cannot see the side of the vehicle unless I move my head a bit, been doing this for a very long time. It takes a while to learn what you are seeing, but your blind spot is greatly reduced.

 

I’d say roughly 50% of my view is taken up by my bedsides.

 

There's no right or wrong IMO, just the way that the individual driver is most comfortable with.

I guess I have 3 rear view mirrors .

 

I like to see a little bit of what it is I am driving, and so does the guy making the video . Without seeing there can be no relation to what else matters you need to see.

 

i had a similar thing on my last car and found it indispensable. for whatever reason i haven't put them on the truck yet.

EDIT: i guess the reason is i haven't found ones that are also defrost ones for the 3g's. anyone seen em?
