Did we ever hear an answer about the reason for the tent material change? I PM'd him but he told me that there was a discussion on this thread about it already. Did it get deleted, or am I missing something?

Go back a few pages and there's the discussion. If you want I'll PM you my stock answer although I tired of PM's.

    ...too much shit to list.
I mean, you did publicly post “You know PM is there for a reason. Ever thought about using it??” You invited the PMs. And while there was discussion around the tent material, you certainly never answer why it was changing again.

Yeah man, I must be blind. I see people saying that it looks like they are retooling for a new tent material, you saying you know why, and then a hal dozen people asking you why, all to no reply. At some point I saw you ask to be PM'd, so I PM'd you, and you PM'd back that there was discussion in the thread.

Why don’t you just stop pretending you’re a subject matter expert or insider? Then nobody will bother you with PMs or call you out for not delivering on information you claim to know.

I had to go back a few pages, and noticed rajacat deleted a few of his posts, but found the one he keeps referring to at least.

I'm pretty positive it's one million. I've been looking into a dyi replacement for the hinges and I stumbled upon a custom pop up build. The hinges he used looked identical and they were rated at 1 million..... still looking for a permanent solution. Tired of the problem, but the full open side access makes the struggle worth it.

I thought I was told 4 million, but of course, for all practical purposes, the difference between 1 and 4 million is rather moot....I also want to reiterate that while I can find one ore two quality control issues that concern me, there are dozens of workmanship details that impress me.

Which is probably a good thing considering you don't seem to know anything about the reason they are changing tent material...

Why don't you go to the GFC modification thread? Aren't you aware of it? I posted this there.

"I also have the pinholes and more. These small holes, over time, will result in the fabric failing in this area. I think that the zippers should have a double layer of cloth backing because they're a stress point. There should also be stitching and they need to find a better glue. I mention the glue because the fabric disks that support the forward bungee are coming loose to the degree that I don't use the bungee anymore. There needs to be more layers of cloth backing the disks because it's a another stress point."

Also my PM to you is private and you shouldn't post its contents on the public thread.

So why have the PM facility if it isn't private?

Come on though.... that particular comment was made privately. There is some level of privacy expected.

I now understand rajacats comment, about “he knows” was made in reference to his failing material. It was not clear, and he was trying to be too cute. He is now paying the price. No need to further crucify him.

Who took their gfc someplace cool this weekend?
