Feels like it's coming from the wheels is what I mean, I'm used to the steering wheel slop/wander. This is something more recent

Well I'm going to start with the tie rods since I know they probably need done, the outers anyway.

I have new steering rack bushings in my desk but my original ones still look fine.

Exactly, I'm afraid I'm going to get pulled over on suspicion of a DUI and I'll have to try and explain to the cop that I'm not drunk, my truck is just being a POS currently lol

It'll be something else soon enough. Though I must admit the Z is probably here to stay for a while, just won't be in the project spotlight.

All it does is make the wheel really touchy. Could actually make a wandering issue worse.

My cruiser does this too haha. But I have a straight axle and steering box with tons of links that are 25 years old... So thats probably the issue. Needs a steering damper too, gonna buy the KING one just for the meme

If I have the front end off the ground, I can grab one tire and wiggle it side to side and the other tire will do it simultaneously. Someone mentioned that could mean my tie rods are bad or it might be something in my steering linkage (rack guide?), gonna start with the tie rods first since that's something I feel I can do easily.

@Running Man how do you tighten the steering rack guide? If it's easy to explain anyway. If not just tell me to look it up lol

Ah okay yeah I know what you're talking about. Is there a torque spec on it or just by feel and trial/error? I don't see it listed on the torque spec sheet I've got

Yeah I just found a thread on it in a 4runner forum, guy said tightening it even just a quarter turn was too much. I'm not gonna mess with that until after I see if the new tie rods help

Damn, that GT86 with the 1FZ just made 2003HP.... It's been updated a fair bit. The intake they're using takes 24 fuel injectors, that's four injectors per cyl. I wonder if that fits in the Land cruiser chassis, be nice to delete all the stupid shit on my intake in one big swoop, gonna use a Honda throttle body anyway.
