Yeah in that 4runner thread the guy said he ended up needing a new rack because the guide was simply worn out.

Mine's only got 83k miles on it so I doubt the rack is the issue.

I spent a few hours logging into Excel all the old receipts I have saved over the years. I even made a nice graph for you all.



I'm sure there are a few receipts I haven't kept, and I've been a bit lax keeping track of every receipt since I started doing my own maintenance. I've put $37,000 into the truck, not including the purchase price, gas, registration and insurance. Total cost of ownership would be even more shocking, I'm sure.

The Land cruiser 80 isn't unique in this aspect, there are many vehicles with the feel and qualities that take experience to appreciate. Just like I wouldn't put Barto behind the wheel of something with a 3 plate ceramic clutch, I wouldn't put you behind the wheel of something, should really end the sentance there, with the qualities of a land cruiser. Both won't work, Bart needs to start small and work up to something like that, and you're looking for things that don't belong in the evaluation of the type of vehicle.
