hey can anyone diagnose this humming noise from my AC/blower?

It seems to be louder with the ac on but I can still faintly hear it(I think) if I turn the ac off and the blower is just going.

You should be able to hear it if you listen close to the video.

It just started today. Was fine yesterday when I drove 3 hours home and used ac for most of it.

    Thanks!

Hmm. Mine does that a little bit sometimes. I wonder if you have build up on the fan blades. Maybe dust or something. You know like the fan blades on the ceiling fans in your house. How does your cab filter look?

I will check it. I just recently replaced my cabin filter and it was pretty bad.

Yeah. The blades might be out of balance. It doesn't take much build up.

Sweet. Worth a look anyway if it isn't a major undertaking.

No mechanical mods. Minor convience and useability tweaks.
Make sure all the windows are closed all the way. My fan motor recently started whistling when I turned up the fan speed. The passenger door glass wasn't up completely. When I lowered it a bit and then closed it again, the whistling stopped. Who'd a thunk!

Mine had same noise which started suddenly today. Stuck my phone in where the air filter goes and took some pictures to see if stuff was in there...the blower fan cracked.
Ordered a replacement motor/fan assembly TYC 700188 off Amazon for 36 bucks (OEM is over 100), should be easy.

**** UPDATE - The TYC is making a bit of noise now, like a bearing is bad in it. Going to get OEM next.

Installed yesterday. Seems to blow the same as the OEM. It sounds a little different, but not unusual or annoying. Fit perfectly. I would buy again. Also, this replacement unit is made in Taiwan. The OEM broken one was made in China.

UPDATE 1/7/2021: It now makes an annoying sound on lower speeds. It sounds like a bearing going out. I cleaned the filter and everything. I'm going to bite the bullet and go back to OEM.

A review on Amazon for the $100 Toyota one says that it did not come with a "pigtail". I recently upgraded my resistor and wiring harness to solve the "only works on HIGH" problem. Now the blower fails to work unless I hit the underside of my glove box area with my fist, really hard. I am confused by the "pigtail" comment and I have asked the Amazon reviewer to clarify his comment. My guess is that he is referring to the resistor/wiring harness.
