    Evening folks :hattip:

I never got into it but now that my son is getting to that age, I wish I was. Gonna be cool getting to play with him , but I'm definitely gonna be lost. Just started him on the Wii this past month, which had been in storage for at least 6 years I'd say. That looks pretty cool though

I'm just maintaining with my Shiner Blondes and my alert tab is being spammed by the troll thread.

There's a Troll thread? Wait - I'm too slow for that!
Just having beverages and trying to get rid of my "surplus sale" because it's ALL in the truck while I do the garage!

Hello SA people. I have been lurking these forums for a while now as I have a 1999 Tacoma SR5 V6 TRD Offroad with the 5MT that was gifted to me by my aunt. It has nearly 300K miles and runs great, but it is due for several regular maintenance items all at once. I am wondering if anyone knows of any good shops around the SA area (preferably far west or north west side of town) that have a good reputation for working on Tacomas. So far the only shop I have used that I like a lot is Bikini Offroad (They replaced my starter and carrier bearing for a great price about a year ago), however everyone else in SA thinks Bikini Offroad is great as well, so they are always busy which means you will have to wait a while to get your truck worked on. I called a few weeks ago and I was told almost a month before they could schedule my truck for service. I remember that when they replaced my starter and carrier bearing last year, my truck was at their shop for almost 2 weeks.

Basically my plan is to make my Tacoma my daily driver and upgrade it for better off-road and towing performance. I have around $10K saved up that I am looking to put into my truck over the next month. Unfortunately, I do not have the space or time to work on my truck myself, unless it is for small items (I've been able to replace all of the external light assemblies and the idle puller myself as well as do my own oils changes). Anything that requires more than one person, or several hours of work, I can't do at the moment.

The regular maintenance items are basically anything you can think of that wears out normally, except for the Spark plugs and wires as those were replaced only about 30K miles ago and should be good for a while.

    Maintenance items it needs:
    -Drive/Accessory belts
-Timing belt/water pump and crankshaft seal replacement (I ordered the URD crankshaft pulley as well as my stock pulley has a chunk broken off of it)
-Brake pads, rotors, and fluids (possibly the hydraulics as well depending on how things look)
-Clutch and master/slave cylinder and also the rear main seal and possibly half circle seals if they are leaking.
-All fluids replaced (transmission, coolant, transfer case, diff, anything with fluid in it, etc...)
-Possibly the valve cover gasket if its leaking (my aunt has had to replace this a few times already)
-The truck has also has had the P420 code for the past 150K miles or so, but has never had problems running (no issues with the cats and the O2 sensor has been replaced a few times, the dealership was never able to figure out what was causing the code, so my aunt just ignored the check engine light).

That is pretty much what I have been able to think of so far for maintenance repairs to get it to the point of a reliable daily driver. The money I have left over after all of the maintenance type work is done will go into upgrades, with the first being suspension.

I still have the 12 pack that @Pyrotech of Blondes that he traded for my trailer hitch flag mount. Still waiting to fit in the fridge after all the other leftovers. I think when I get the garage right, I need a beer fridge. Do I hear a HELL YEAH?

@Chris311 - here is a helpful link for you, and it's totally free.
    https://www.toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/service-history

Go there, put your VIN in and register the truck, and every service will be at your fingertips, as long as it was Toyota service. I bought mine at 190K as a fourth owner, and it has been invaluable in deciding what I really want to do.

There is also a link that will give your FREE Carfax, but I can't put my finger on it right now.

When you want to go MOD, several people will help you out. Our shop of GREAT RESULTS AND ADMIRATION is the Triple C Chop Shop, in Lago Vista. @Texoma, can answer ANY question you will have about mods.

Thanks Oldie and Bigdaddy. I like seeing this thread active. This forum seems to be more active than over at TN.
