Not untrue, but if those assholes were able to swallow their pride enough to make one 15 minute phone call to Tim and understand the intent of the kit they could have ended up a little better at their trade and had a happy customer.

I agree totally man, what’s sad is they painted Tim as some asshole when In reality they never called him except over something really trivial when they were first doing the install. I think like you said they had way too much pride to even acknowledge the fact that they really didn’t know what they were doing until they were too deep with multiple reinstalls without contacting anyone for verification. They were salty in the end cause I was dissatisfied with the work and how they could do this install when all they needed was 2 min of guidance from Tim.

It really helped having Ryan go through where they should have done things right.

Just curious, what was botched on the install? I’m having a shop install my DMZ kit at the moment, so just aware what to look out for. Thanks

Well a big mistake that I wasn’t aware of is I forgot to include the set of spacers that Tim provides with the bed cage he offers. Because of this, these guys just assumed that the spacers on my old bamf relocation set up would suffice. Well it made the shocks about a half inch closer to the frame because of this. This led to them cycling the suspension and making my bumps 3 inches lower than they should have been so my uptravel was almost half of what it should be.

I asked them considering that I provided completely new parts for the install that maybe they should have asked about whether it included spacers especially since somehow they thought my existing suspension spacers from the bamf towers would just work? This is where I got irritated at them cause if they had called me, Tim, or just somebody they probably would have found out what they were doing was not correct.

I’m sure the shop you took your stuff to is probably much more squared away but this shop that did mine has a problem with communication. Another guy @buyobuyo got his burg kit installed and they had his vehicle for weeks without doing anything cause they were waiting on his wheel key to remove his wheels which he had no idea until he called for an update and found out they just parked his truck due to needing it. This shop is known in VA for doing custom crawlers but man, I’m really surprised from both of our experiences how they survive beyond the average lift kit when they advertise they are the go to for custom fab in va.

I will snap a pic later on today when it’s all back together, but from my experience the bumps should be making contact an inch or so below the frame...not four inches down like they did to mine.

They bumped him about 3” sooner than they needed to and limited droop about and inch sooner than needed. Anyone that knows how to cycle suspension and set these things correctly will not have this issue

Since I know you’ve got em, do the DD links come with drain holes? Or should I ask Steve to put some in when I eventually go the route oh his Tacoma 3link kit?

Drain holes aren't always the answer. It's just water

Since I’m sure a lot of you are rocking one...is there a good supercharger thread somewhere here that I can lurk on (or anywhere that’s a good source)? I did some searching but no luck on much. 3.4l preferably.

what are you looking for specifically?

I can tell you to skip the URD BS stuff. Its ancient tech and is a pain to work with and Gadget just isn't has helpful anymore. Get a Blower new or used(Used you just need to make sure you have all the parts, the throttle cable bracket and mounting bolts are the ticky ones). Then run an AEM FIC6 with some maybe bigger injectors. Don't get a Walbro pump unless you want a loud ass pump, an AEM is much better(Not an AEM fan boi just somethat that works good) or a Bosch Supra pump. There is a great FIC6 thread on here for our trucks. Tim at 303 shocks would be a good resource as well as he is running this exact setup. The AEM is much easier to tune, you'll get better power and no ping.

If you really want to(doubt it though if you're racing as it can be illegal so check rules/regs first) running a meth kit can help a LOT with the Roots blower since it generates so much heat.

Running a 2.2 or 2.1 pulley would be smart I think too. URDs are fine, Pulley Boys makes some good ones(even a 2.0 if you wanna go there, would require meth though due to heat).

Wouldn't be worried about buying a used blower, they are pretty simple and easy to service yourself.

Why not make some type of a rubber boot to go over the openings? Keep drain holes so moisture doesn’t build up but it would help keep all the dirt and rocks out.

Lol good idea but honestly never had this happen I just got "stuck" and rocks were going everywhere. Mine don't have drains and no issue but it's garage kept and I don't do water crossings and it's cali. So rain isn't that bad

smashed this, broke that, covered it up with tape and paint
Yeah my truck lives in the driveway not the garage sadly
And rain/snow/ice over a long period of time which is common for it to do in Kentucky makes it a application necessity for me

Hell my sister back home said it rained almost all spring non stop

    Ah well perfect! :D

Get a fuel pump and an fic6 and go from there. Should be fairly simple. Check out the fic6 thread for tips on that.

Dirt Designs has a drain built into all of his trailing arms, he’s been doing the offroad thing long enough to know the little details and hacks. These are the 48” trailing arms that DCSB tacos generally use.

Dirt designs adds little bonus features like this lift point on all of his lower arms, so your truck doesn’t slip off a jack and kill you B975EA36-0BC2-4AE9-B4BB-3B39679A1C5C.jpg
