That's taking it a little far lol. Please tell me you're not basing a decision to move or not move on how "handy" a harbor freight is.

LOL, yea well...hard to tell online, and ya never know. I had hopes it was a joke so maybe you could lower the line over my head a little....I mean, still over my head, but closer to it...maybe? :)

I've had the 12,000lb badlands winch for several years now. I've used it many times to recover myself and others. It's never let me down. I'm always curious when someone criticizes them as "slow" because I can't think of a situation where that mattered. The slow comes from the gearing I believe. I'd imagine that a winch that was slowed by thick grease would have a very difficult time recovering a barbie jeep.
I did pull mine all apart when I switched to a synthetic line. I wanted to clean and repaint the drum. The grease inside seemed fine although I'm sure what I replaced it with is better. I was actually very surprised with the condition of the insides, especially the solenoid. Things were spotless even though the entire winch had been submerged and completely covered in mud many times.
I've been extremely happy with the winch but ,as with all things harbor freight, your mileage may vary.

My primary criticism of the Badland winch is the same as with the Smittybuilt, all other china winches, and yes, the almighty Warn. In an effort to cheap out, because copper is very expensive, all these manufacturers have been making their winches as of late with small AWG cables. This is a big deal if one is running a winch at the rear such as with a mount on the receiver hitch because the voltage loss. I completely removed the cables on mine and replaced with much larger diameter ones.

I haven’t seen very many coupons for the ICON line. I have seen at least one though, I think right around July 4th holiday.

Here’s an older pic of my top drawer, I have the same box, though I added an end cabinet.

Heres how I have my 44" setup. Least gives an idea. Thats not even all my socket stuff either :(

And for wrenches...this is the "normal size" SAE drawer and the ratchet drawer with small breaker bars

Are those homemade wrench holders? Or where did you buy those from?

Those with the US General 44" tool boxes, how wide are the drawers on the long and short side? Is the wider one at least 26" wide? I checked the website - no info...

    Thanks!

its just foam. Just cut to size (or used scraps) and trim out a slot for the wrench

    Mine measure 22-1/4" and 12"

Gahhh, seeing your organized boxes makes me cringe at the way stuff is piled in mine. I'm used to fully foamed and shadowed boxes at work but just don't have to space or time to get mine at home in that shape yet.

Mine are semi organized but inevitably get knocked around with use or closing the drawers too hard. When I see screwdrivers all lined up I wish I could keep them that way, but I use my junk too often. I do give everything a weekly once over and put it all back where it belongs and blow out the drawers with my compressor to get saw dust and/or metal shavings out of them.
