It was time for a trade. I didn't want to get rid of my 2005 but I needed something else. But it's not what you think. I didnt have the luxury of picking up the new 2011 Tacoma which probably brought you to this thread, instead, I got one of these......

With twins on the way, we just needed something for the family. I had to sacrifice the truck like a good dad would do. Whatever is best for the family. It was a sad day. I loved my truck. It never let me down and it was a blast to drive. But this van is pretty cool too. It is pretty loaded with some cool gadgets. Bluetooth, backup camera, power sliding door, xm radio, and more. One of these days I will get back into a truck, but for now I will be pimpin the mini van!

Yeah, but the room wasn't much better than the Tacoma. We took the car seat with us, and when I test fitted it, it was about the same as the truck. This van has soooo much room it isn't even funny.

You should have got a new Tacoma...just shove the twins in the bed...you know...those 2 bedside compartments...they could each have their own little area... :D

jk...of course. You are a good dad.

See, thats what I tried to tell the wife. I had a bed rug and a hard tonneau. I think they would have been fine in the bed. I would have used a ratchet strap to hold them down of course. :D

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
Wait you had Double cab, paid off I assume, and you traded for brand new minivan with payments to drive two kids ?
I could be missing something
now your truck was easily fixable now you goign have to go to dealer for everything including oil changes.

I just don't know if that was good decision

You sir, are a good sport...and a good egg.
I bet his wife was a play in the decision...if that was the case...it was a great decision.

Truck was not paid off. I was also paying off another car that I was upside down on when I traded for the Tacoma. I still owed $15000 on the truck. They paid that off completely as a trade, and I reduced my payments by over $150 a month. So for me, it was a good deal. Brand new vehicle. Bigger vehicle. Vehicle with a warranty. Reduced payments. It all worked out in my favor.
