I went to HD, Lowes, ACE, and O'Reilly's. At that point, I decided I might as well just give the #2 Philips a shot. Of course, that meant I had a lot more work in front of me.

I replaced the JIS screws in the oh shit handle with Allen screws, so hopefully (those) won't be a problem again. And, I still don't have a set of JIS drivers. I'd just get this set on amazon if I were to get some...

@Blue92 i am slowly detailing my interior as well (a little at a time) after a multi-hundred mile gravel road dust/dirt kicked up following some 3rd and 2nd gens on a quest to nowhere in the Wisconsin wilderness, I forget that I had the fresh air coming in instead of recirc and the mess compounded  but the bluegray interior i got stuck with shines like the dickens i tell ya, so glossy! and the black parts around the bezel total badass!, near showroom quality lol

hope your finger heals up ok

How would you guys do that?

There must be a way to fit a filter over the ac air intake above the hood on 1st gens.

How is there no sand at all on your truck? Even the tire tread is perfectly clean.

They must have used the onboard air with nozzle to spray everything off and detail the truck in that spot for the perfect photo.

Nope. Picture wasn’t intentional. We went to go help a buddy pull his Sequoia out. How there’s no sand on the trucks tire...idk. Maybe it’s fine sand or maybe the phone camera couldn’t catch the grains. The real question is why is that important :)

Oh it's not important, I was legitimately wondering because just driving around on asphalt, my tires seem dirtier lol

Now you got me thinking. Maybe because the fine sand cleans the tires. You have to remember the street has dirt, oils, and other debris that make your tires dirty. This is just dry fine sand and it doesn’t stick unless there’s water added. Before the photo we ran the dunes pretty good so it got a thorough cleaning :)

Hmm that actually makes quite a bit of sense. Dry, clean rubber really isn't really very sticky until heated up (like in pre-drag race burnouts; but that's also a different compound/tread), so it does make some sense that equally dry sand wouldn't really be sticking much.

Time to teach Junior how to work on his vehicle. We removed the ugly cheap chrome side steps and replaced the radiator today. Absolute blast spending time with him and teaching.

Has anyone had issues with aftermarket sway bar links? I was driving for a awhile with no sway bar and had no noise issues. Then I got a set of MOOG and from day one the driver side was popping so loud I could feel it.

I swapped over to proforged after a week of the MOOG. They were fine for a bit but now the driver side is making noise again. But not as loud as the MOOGs were.

Was it hard doing the welding with the bed on? I have a set of frame stiffeners waiting to be put on.

@m3bassman thanks for answering the very question I was going to ask.

I thought you were in CA? Couldn't imagine why our trucks would need any help.

    Got it.

I'm just spoiled I guess; since I did some dispersed last week on my days off, when I got back I pressure washed the whole underside of my truck.

Sprayed some simple green along the frame and holy shit, I can see numbers painted on there from the factory.

Makes me want to spray the rear end and get it all cleaned up, only to dirty it again on the next trip...
