@Sperrunner when you say contact switch I assume you do not mean the door panel switch?

    The blower spins free

No codes. I checked and the evaporator is not frozen.

When the fan comes on for the few seconds I barely get a trickle of air at the vent s though

Depending on how much ducting/venting there is, a lot of ducting might take a sec of extra time until you feel it at duct. Can you get eyes on the capacitor?
@Sperrunner are the electric motors for the furnace like the electric motors for a dryer? With a built in self resetting thermal fuse?

Wulf I would check with the meter, when the fan motor quits, that you have 120 VAC at the connections on the motor or at the connectors on the control board that lead to the motor. Is the motor shutting off after few seconds because it's losing voltage?
@Sperrunner do most furnace motors usually only have one cap?

And the dumbest invention award goes to...

One question. Why? Why would anyone care enough to buy smart airfilters?

Its one of those things that youll look at once and say "oh thats nifty." Then never look at again, cause there isnt anything you can do to change the results. If you want cleaner air, just run separate air purifiers.

I have the ceiling fan on in my room year round. Even if its 2 degrees outside, the fan stays on.

What are you wanting to do? Did you already ask here on the forum? In case someone has some insight or experience(likely)?

yeah I'm a fan...of fans. I always have a table fan going at night even in the winter, my wife hates it haha.

I mean the house fan though, the one that runs off the central air system but just in fan/outside air mode. If it's cool enough outside we'll just run the fan instead of the AC to save money/power, but fuck if it doesn't screw with my allergies something fierce this time of year.

Filters wont really help there. One of my friends whos a transplant from NH runs an air purifier in his room. Says it works wonders.

I should look into one of those, never tried one.

If my allergies act up at night when I'm asleep, I won't be able to stay asleep. If I can't breathe through my nose I'll lay awake all night long.

Do I need to check it if the compressor and external fan are running?

I can feel the line between the condenser and evaporator are warm/cold. And the evaporator box itself is getting cold.
