    New member here!

Been building Jeeps and stuff for many years. My buddies all said I would be the least likely of us to ever own or build a Toyota. FOOLS! All of them...

Without their knowing or approval I purchased, built, used, and sold a 1988 Toyota 4x4 Van. It was bad ass. With the proceeds of the sale, I bought a bone stock, 1st Gen Tacoma Extracab TRD. It is a blank canvas to build my next adventure vehicle. All my Jeep buddies can suck it.

    It's Taco time now.....

    .

Here's my last build. I called her The Buttplug.

It's all true on the internet after all. lol

Nice find. 5 speed Toyo vans with true low range are hard to find. They're even harder to find in the cargo version. I had an 88 that was also a silver cargo. Mine's name was the toaster. Me and some buddies where up on a deck one day and my rig was parked below. The paint had peeled in two very distinct lines down the roof. They looked a lot like toaster slots and the name stuck. You didn't happen to be a member of toyotavantech.com did you? Great site for those rigs.

Yep. Buttplug was a 5 speed, hi/low xfer case and locking hubs. I sold it in under 24 hours and had people from all over the country telling me they were going to fly to Denver to buy it. Of course I sold it to the first guy that showed up with the cash. The next day I bought a sweet Taco and had plenty of cash left over from the Buttplug sale. Gotta love craigslist.

Yeah, I have (had) a blog over on toyotavantech.com. Sounds like a great community here on TW too.

TW is a pretty good community. There's a ton of info here and if your the type that can sort it without asking questions that have been asked 100 times it's a fine place to hang out. Just like any community there's know it alls, know nothings, and a lot of know it alls that know nothing. Most folks sit in the middle of that bell curve. As a resource for your build it's top notch.

You got any plans for the build yet?

Probably. But I currently know nothing about this truck so for a few weeks Ill be researching and designing what I want to build. It will be EXTREME - and by EXTREME, I mean extremely mediocre. Rugged, but refined.
