My wife and I have an Escapade Alpine. Don't think they make it anymore. It's a very small shop in MN. IMG_20180908_100844.jpg

I did like it a lot, but it seems excessively expensive for the options it ships with.

The Geo Pros are nice for how compact they are and actually have pretty good features.

Shop for used. TM owners tend to take really good care of them. We got lucky and found a 2016 in the fall of 2017 that was brand new and got it for 1/3 off. I like our 16 because it's all aluminum except for the frame. Stock weight was around 900lbs

Wanting AC limits your choices. We have the T@G and use the air quite often. Caveat to AC, you will need 110VAC there are no 12VDC units and an inverter will drain a battery in a few minutes. That means camp site with electric or a generator. Many camp grounds ban generators because of abuse. We have a tri-fuel Yamaha, the AC is louder than it....

Personally I like the outside kitchen, cooking smells can accumulate inside a tiny camper.

I'm just looking at this point, the T@G boondock edge looks kind of up my alley. The AC isn't make or break but it'd be nice to have if I was in a campground. This is probably going to get towed through the woods mainly. I'd like to plan a road trip with the girl and dogs probably to Maine and then possibly Yellowstone.

There is a retired ranger with a Little Guy camper near the north entrance, camped with him several times at Joshua Tree. Has invited people to stop by and he'd map out the best sites and self tours. Think it is my top on the bucket list....

Also Cuffs on this forum, husband is a ranger in Utah, have a LG Rough Rider. Might drop her a note if you plan to drive south a bit after Yellowstone.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Look at the T@G closely. It may or may not be suitable for trails. We've have a T@B Boondock. It looks the offroad part but I wouldn't subject it to much more than a bumpy fire road. Being stick built I'm afraid it would come apart. But, for time being it's fine for us. If I was headed deeper I'd at least look at a Casita 16 with pitched axle and axle lift kit. That would be my perfect, within wallet reasonability, trailer. The 16 because the a/c is in front, not on top for height clearance. And Casita over Scamp because of the bellypan.

I have a Geo Pro G19FD trailer. I love the murphy bed and the dry bath. Solar already installed was pretty sweet, too. Plenty of room for me, the wife and our little dog.

Great insight, thanks. I've been scouring CL for a Casita for just about everything you said.

https://www.fiberglass-rv-4sale.com/scamp-trailers-for-sale is the best site I've found for molded fiberglass classifieds. Looks to be a few 16' Casitas on there now.

http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/ is sorta like TW with a lot of sub-forums. Check out the 'rallies' section for a get together in your area. Most of these are not brand specific and you can get a first hand look at the various makes and models plus talk to their owners.

I wouldn't get too hung up on Casita vs Scamp flooring design. With reasonable care, neither is likely to suffer any rot but unaddressed leaks can cause problems for both and Casita's may actually be a little more difficult to repair. Talk to a few owners. The combined black/gray water drainage system used by Casita would be a bigger concern when offroading but that's easily addressed.

AC is a desirable option and will help at resale time but we seldom use ours. The Maxx Fan directly over our bed does a pretty good job of providing adequate air movement.

Good luck in your search - Casita has been around a long time and makes a darned good camper.

What’s the dry weight on that trailer? Any mods on the truck for towing?

How do you like it? Haven't decided what we want to do but have been looking at the GeoPro E15TB. Really looking for something small and light that I can use with my sons when we go camping. My wife goes on occasion and she wants something bigger than a small teardrop.

Probably get rid of it. I might consider letting my son have it in a few years though.
