WOW, that’s a big difference. Almost glad I didn’t go with the TC CTgussets after seeing this.

    Hello everyone,

    Couple updates today.

First: We found a local customer with TC gussets and were able to take measurements from them. I wasn't aware that their tabs were longer than factory tabs, so we'll have to see about making the two more compatible. More info on this as it comes

Second: We've got another application available!

Now available for 2010+ 5th gen 4Runners! In-stock and ready to ship or for local pick-up!

We are offering a $30 discount to the first 10 kits sold which should be quick!

Finally got a chance to get these on!!

Huge thank you and credit goes to @Shmellmopwho for getting these welded on for me. For those considering it, this kit is extremely well made and worth every penny.

Thanks again @Shmellmopwho for the awesome job and @BigMike for making a high quality product at such a great price :yay:

    Good afternoon fellow IFSers,

This is a PSA for 4th & 5th gen 4Runner, GX470, and FJ Cruiser owners

@Pickeledpigsfeet has brought to my attention that our front lower brace (2 per kit) for these applications are about an inch too long and interfere with the driver side differential bracket. As a result, the one plate being installed to the driver side will need to be trimmed back.

This oversight is entirely my fault. Our frames here do not have front diff brackets. I carried over most of the profile from the Tacoma Kit, and it turns out the front left LCA mount is closer to this differential bracket than I was aware of.

Thank you to @Pickeledpigsfeet and local customers Kiel (5G 4R) and Eric (FJ C) for helping us resolve this issue!

I'll next send out an email to the few dozen that have already shipped for these applications with the option of a free return shipping + exchange with an updated front lower brace.

Optionally, for those who don't mind cutting, only one side needs to be cut, and here is an image with required approximate location (material removed below the black Sharpie marker line). Also, I'd still feel bad it wasn't right so please send me a PM with your order number so we may offer a discount code for your next order. Thanks!

-- Only for 4Runner, GX470, and FJ Cruiser customers that have already received their parts --
-- Only need to trim one of your two plates, then install that plate to your driver side --

    front-lower-brace-trim-one.jpg

We will modify the ones we have here, so this only applies to 4Runner/Lexus/FJ Cruiser orders of order number less than about 83175. We have about 5 kits for these applications going out today and we will get them fixed before they ship.

    Regards,
    BigMike

    stock a fawk!
put me down for a set of TC compatible ones. I pretty much bought all my front suspension components and want to add the TC tabs first after tearing down the stock front.

@BigMike i wish that perhaps we would spend a bit longer on R&D before advertising a complete product. The design has great intentions but has some obvious figment issues along multiple vehicles. You advertised that these braces would work with aftermarket tab guests yet they did not.... I am a fan but feeling like I was a guinea pig for something that hadn’t been tested quite yet.

The original post made it pretty clear the people with skids or gussets would require a little diy to get the correct fitment. What has been your problem with them? Obviousley they cant make a product that will fit every truck with aftermarket parts

Understood and criticism deserved. I was wrong in assuming TC 1/4" tabs were the same length as factory tabs. That said, however, I did incorporate into the design room to accept 1/4" thick aftermarket tabs. The caveat, as I now know of course, is that our design is only intended for aftermarket tabs that match the length of factory tabs (which the TC tabs do not).

I found a local owner with TC tabs installed, took measurements, and here is the amount required to trim from our HD Uprights:

    total chaos mod t.jpg

Only the HD Uprights need to be clearanced, and only in the two corners shown. There is an additional problem not considered, however, which is that Step #2 of the TC instructions require the end user to weld the outer edges of their tabs (ie. the weld shown on Page 3, Image 3.1) which, because no two welds are the same and some might weld more than others, cannot be accommodated with our kit. So you'll either need to radius the back vertical edges of our HD Uprights (to clear your TC welds) or grind your TC welds to a flatter profile (in my opinion the preferred solution) and then lay our HD Upright over the top, then final weld, then you're done!

I will get this image and info added to our Installation Guide for reference. dcoursler, I definitely regret not having this information available before your install, and am sorry for not having this information sooner. :(

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I am not aware of any fitment issues for other applications. Please let me know so we can get them addressed, thanks!

    Regards,
    BigMike
