Hey guys, I am new to the Tacoma world. Bought my first Tacoma a couple of weeks ago and cant wait to get out and explore and camp. I come from the "van life" scene I guess you could say. I build a cargo van into a camper to kayak and camp, but I have since sold it. I was building a new van camper and realized my build was going to be too cumbersome to get down some of the trails I have been adding to my bucket list. my website is www.rubbertramprenegade.com or you can find me on youtube at youtube.com/rubbertramprenegade. Thanks for having me, I hope to learn a lot on here.

Hello Everyone! New Here. I came here to find out if anyone has figured out the wiring in a 3rd Gen. Specifically i am looking for 12V+ Parking Lights, 12V+ Turn Signals, & 12V+ Door Assist. I am looking to install my Running Board LED Sequential Lights. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I remember that episode of SNL, but I don't understand what you mean. What do you need? A constant 12V circuit or one that comes on under those circumstances or are you trying to tap into those circuits?

Best thing would be to start a separate thread in the 3rd gen forums to get better answers.

Hi Beretta4x4, Yes. I need to tap into the wires that supply this under certain circumstances. Ex. When the Left/Right Turn Signal is on. When the Parking Lights are on and when the lights come on when you open the door.

A better visual example i can give is..

This is not on a Toyota but the principal is the same.

I have a second gen, so I have no experience with the third gen wiring schematics. Try your hand at starting a thread in the third gen forum specifically asking how to tap into the wiring to make your lights do exactly what you need them to.

At the very least, identify what circuit you need to tap into and splice into it with an inline fuse at an equal or lower amperage to reduce the chance of an overload on the wiring. Not a good answer, sorry about that, but there's more experienced guys when it comes to wiring a third gen Tacoma.

Here's a link to the third gen forum:
