BUILD START


Purchased July 1st, 2017 with full intentions to go overboard with modding because for a long time I was following people on Instagram like Defconbrix and Tcadwell knowing I really wanted to do this kind of thing in the future.


I had actually won this Toytec lift kit on a Facebook giveaway in a third gen page and was helped to install it by NJ dirtbag crew who I owe a lot of beers to.




Here is the lift installed like a month after getting it.


Found a steal of a deal on this leer 100r in Deleware for only $800 used 2 months from a member in the craigslist find page.


A little glam to get rid of that disgusting cheese grater chrome.


A friend turned me to Matt from TNT 4x4 in North Jersey and he got me a great deal on a set of method 305nv and 285/75r16 Cooper ST MAXX.





Matt also was able to get me a pair of Mobtown Offroad bolt on sliders for a ridiculously cheap price! Just used a roller and some rustollium and she was good to go.




@Chux was nice enough to pretty much do my whole cb radio install for my

$67 Uniden PRO520XL Pro Series 40-Channel CB Radio. Compact Design. ANL Switch and PA/CB Switch. 7 Watts of Audio Output and Instant Emergency Channel 9. - Black

Uniden PRO520XL (I still owe him a beer for this) and I threw on some tufskinz tailgate insert to make that shiney chrome rear end look a bit nicer.





For my first ever camping trip in the Blue TuRD I had just placed a memory foam mattress in the truck bed but it got a little wet from a water crossing or two so I made this platformfrom 2x4 and 3/4 plywood to give storage underneath and my sleeping platform on the top. This will be the setup that I'll be running until I stomach up the pocket change to buy a Rooftop tent.




Threw in a relentless hi lift mount and full sized spare in the back while I waited literally forever for the cbi high clearance dual swingout bumper to arrive! Sure was nice of cbi to give me the wrong lugs for the spare carrier so I had to find new lug nuts to fit after we welded it on. Knowing how much this weighed and having sag just from the camping setup I also made sure to purchase a dakar heavy duty leaf pack with add a leaf and wheelers ubolt flip kit and bump stops.



A couple weeks later those fronts finally arrvied! This time cbi giving me the wrong sized bolts for the side support on the front.


And lastly currently I finally and way to late installed a dif breather relocater to behind the driver taillight.

CBI full skids and full Prinsu have been ordered so only a matter of time before those arrive, hopefully a shorter wait then those bumpers were.

Went camping did a clear taillight mod

 

Drunk me made a nice purchase that I installed yesterday, if you get a dobinsons the template isn’t perfect so measure 25 times don’t be like me.

 

Got a Seers cargo box to store my recovery supplies and firewood until I get a rtt

It’s been an expensive week. The blue sea I’ve been sitting on for to long has been wired up, a smittybilt x20 has been installed, and my cvt rooftop tent has arrived. Last minute trip prepping is always a blast!
