Thank you guys for the over whelming positive comments. Sold my KLR650 three weeks ago, the day before a nearly three week long road trip where I backpacked and camped the whole time when not driving to my next camp. Ordered a topper just now, screens front and back, boot. Gray to match the blue truck, cooler for the pup than black. Excited to get this maybe by Friday.

I love my SoftTopper, it's been really great so far. The versatility is awesome. Last weekend I spontaneously ended up on some dusty forest roads and this time of year (when we don't get much rain) I just leave the back window off entirely. Whoops. With that setup, the dust/dirt just covers the bed. But 2 minutes to fold the whole thing up and drive back on the highway to get most of the dirt out of there. Easy peasy.

Good call on getting the nets for front and back... Those vinyl windows start to look like shit very quickly and visibility is not the best. I only put mine in when I absolutely needed to be water tight.

How does the soft topper holds with the sun? My truck unfortunately is outside all the time... lots of sun, heat, humidity, rain here in Florida..

I love the looks of the tan/sand color but don’t know how it will hold on the long run..
if I buy it would be without plastic windows.. but I am going to loose the rear view sight...

So don’t know to pull the trigger or not...

For anybody trying to avoid putting Velcro on the tailgate to attach the rear panel.

Underneath the rear panel where the soft Velcro is attached you can stitch in cheap earth magnets between the layers and the rear panel will stick nicely to the tailgate without any issues. I’ve had it for over a year now and it’s awesome

    Something like this:

The rear visibility is the same as a rigid cap with a glass window. The both get dirty and you have to clean them to get full visibility.

The plastic window is different, but you get used to it fast. I don't consider it a deal breaker.

A Meguiar’s carwash soap with integrated wax should work fine to help protect with the UV. Obviously a black softopper will get the hottest

My fabric is holding up well with no signs of wear after 3yrs, untreated, parked outside all-year in NY.

You might want to consider using RaggTopp every few months to increase UV/mold protection:

I always washed mine normally at the same time as the car with whatever car soap I used on the car but after drying it, I condition the plastics and the Topper with Aerospace 303. In my opinion as a person with an opinion and a keyboard, 303 is the way to go. Most hot tub covers will not warranty their covers unless you condition them with 303. I used to work in a custom shop and that was all we ever used. Amazing stuff. My topper has been 100% outside for 15-17 years and it still looks pretty good. The clear vinyl is actually what has broken on a sub zero morning in Tahoe when the back flap was whipping around in the wind on the road. I DEFINITELY suggest avoiding the velcro on the tailgate. The earth magnet idea is excellent, I am replacing my topper soon for one that is actually for the truck and will be doing that for sure.

Mine is on a Dodge 2500. Kind of an Apples to Taco comparison haha. I can snap one if you want though.

Warm soapy water (dish soap) and a microfiber cloth. This is the best method unless you have oxidation/scratches you need to remove.

The bike was coming up to 11 years old, plus don't ride with my friend much, so it paid for the topper. Still have my '15 WR250F.

Solid idea. Except I don't know how to sew...

I just got mine delivered today, and looking for a way to avoid using the Velcro.

You may want to just try it for a bit without any attachment on the tailgate. I don't use the velcro on mine and there's no problems that I can tell. I did end up moving my whole topper forward a bit from what the instructions say, but I don't have any issues with the topper flapping onto the tailgate. At least no problems that are at all visible/audible.
