    Hey guys,

Original dongle guy here. Have flashed a thousand times but I'm stuck, maybe one of ya'll have come across this? Basically PCM flash will not identify my rig. PCM flash won't identify my truck when I'm under [46] CAN-bus which is my ECU. Strangely, it will identify under [46] P5-CAN but will not write or anything because it is the wrong ECU. I have downloaded the latest drivers, PCM flash version and disabled all windows defender stuff. The truck is on, everything is plugged in, I'm out of ideas..

    Must be on P5-CAN.
Usually if it gets "FAILURE" that means the truck is not fully ON.

Also for everyone. Thanks for the current feedback, this is a stripped down version of 2.0 (for beta). It does not include the torque map patch yet. Once we get enough public feedback, we will post updated betas for everyone with it.
Note, for newer trucks(2018,2019). We always publish 2016-17 ECUs for testing first, and port this to 18/19s. You guys will get beta access soon.

Thanks for responding. p5-Can works for identification but not for reading and writing as it says wrong ECU. Pretty sure Ive always been Can-bus

Reading the ECU is blocked if you flash our tune. You should be able to flash, but if you click "read" it will block it and you have to start over (shut the truck off, etc).

The drive in this morning was just excellent from cold start. Everything was consistent and the gears pulled nicely. I can't believe there is more to come. Just excellent!

I honestly do not have any issues for feedback, just the observations noted.

Maybe an off topic question here but probably relevant to other people...if I'm currently on 04b11 is it worth trying to update to a later ecu version? So for me, would 2.0 be better on say 04b13 than on 04b11 or is 2.0 the same 2.0 no matter what?

typically if you are on 04b13, you are one of the first to get new tunes

Thanks, I understand that part, but once files are released for all ECU versions, is one better than the other?

I can try to update to 04b13 myself, my local dealership here is absolutely terrible, not to mention the service manager told me to never come back. Any way what are the real benefits?

It's really a question for Matt to answer but I believe there are some benefits to 04B13 vs 11. I was in your shoes at one point and decided on a Sunday afternoon to go for it and upgrade the ECU myself. It was time consuming but not especially difficult. I think there are some tweaks Toyota made in 13 that Matt was trying to incorporate into the new tunes for 10, 11 and 12 so it's probably in your best interest to upgrade although it may not be a huge difference at the end of the day.
