Oh it would but my main reason for making them was to require no drilling or adhesive. That way it would be totally removable and require nothing to install. The original design doesn't rattle and 'clips' in. I think I'm just going to stick with that design unless I have a AHA moment!

@radio4095 could make one that works with a ball mount extension?

Yeah this is probably a KISS situation, the perceived difference in airflow between the two styles is probably minimal anyway.
But after watching the video a number of times I noticed the drop down style doesn't make contact with the front of the vent fin like your original one does. Seems like you could add a nubbin in front so it clips the same way?

Good call! I had a design with that but it wasn't long enough. Let me make something today and give it a try.

Nice, I recently picked up a DMM from @FreshMexicanTaco and I believe this will work well with it

Here is the 'prototype'. Going to print it sometime soon. I have a ram mount so I can test it and see how it goes.

Bonus: Here is what the file looks like for the CB Ram Mount. It will take a lot of infill to make the ball mount part strong enough.

You could just make the clip with a recess for a 1/4" 20 nut to screw a Ram ball into, but that would make for the world's most expensiveist microphone clip considering all of the components to make it work.

That would be a lot of stress at one point. Injected plastic could hold up but 3d printed might not.

Okay, I just posted it in the 3rd Gen For Sale section: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cb-mic-vent-mount.622119/

After shipping a couple of them I had to increase the price to $15 shipped to make up for the shipping, it just cost so much unless I have a business account, which I don't and I am not big enough to get one. Although if anyone that was interested before the price increase AND has commented here before this post I will honor the $12 shipped. Just PM me and I will make it work. Thank you for the feedback and everything else! I will keep working on the RAM mount and anything else anyone else wants!

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
Ordered as well. Hoping this will have more air flow than the un-holey mount with Hondo’s mic clip.

    Lots of sail boat fuel
Did you make a holder or find one that just naturally worked?
