Thanks, I'll have to look on youtube, haven't done that. I couldn't find any pics on their Facebook or Instagram and the website only has the the one angle.

But. I do wish the ST would close like that new bestop. But that wouldn’t cause me to trade the ST out.

I was fully on team Softopper and have been looking for one secondhand but the new Bestop is very tempting. I really like how the back flap doesn't need the BS velcro on the tailgate, but it still looks like it sits higher than the back of the cab which I dont like. Now it will probably just come down to which one I can get cheaper...

You really don’t need the Velcro on the tailgate. You can tuck the end under the back when you shut the tailgate. Let me see if I have a picture.

I love my softopper. But I gotta admit the features on that new bestop are pretty sweet. They definitely put some thought into each aspect and the new fastening methods are pretty cool. I like the integrated sleeve for stowing, and the bar for the rear panel.

I just picked up some Chemical Guys convertible top cleaner and sealer. Going to put it to use during this weekends camping trip to Mammoth

I've used 303 on it. Since its water based, nothing gets stuck or caked on to the canvas. For the clear plastic, I've used meguiars plastic wax

I made it halfway through the video. Way too much work to have the sides opened up. Can't keep the back open without fully removing the window. I love the softopper

Don’t know if it’s been covered, but I was finally able to sort out my Hi-Lift brackets. They clear just enough to allow the Softopper pivoting lug to fully extended and retract.

I put a piece of 3/4" plywood on the lip above the wheel well, and use it as a shelf for camping. On my 2nd gen my softopper fits just perfectly, and clears the plywood. Made me so happy,

I like the way that folds down, and the new frame looks a lot nicer (and blacker) than the Softopper's... That being said, that thing looks like it'd be a huge PITA to live with compared to the ST.

Maybe the reviewers made it look more difficult than it needs to be... but opening up the back?- That window? That would drive me absolutely nuts! I can unzip, unclip, and flip my back window in literally 5 seconds (and there's no floating crossbar to deal with afterwards). Opening up my sides for access is almost as easy as the back, although I don't find that I need to as often...

If I didn't know any different, maybe it wouldn't bother me as much. But damn, dealing with all those individual panels... and then storing them... separately... It just looks like quite a hassle for almost identical functionality (other than an ability to run optional side windows).

    Different strokes, I guess.

Just out of curiosity: why do you do this to the back window?

The material under the back window tends to flap in the wind over 50mph. Some use magnets to keep it down and some tuck it behind the tailgate.
