@Cratical I hear ya, no worries, I did my grill replacement about a month or so ago...easy straight forward and videos just reinforce what you see/know(or think) is needed to get the job done.

Total easy "mod," but doing in fall or winter makes is pleasant to do w/o A/C!!!

 

In an effort to speed up, broaden, boost quality and consistency, prototype and expand the QuikFix product line a new tool arrived today. It's a new CNC Vertical Milling Machine. I am a little giddy and a little poorer.

Me too! That was a lot of work. And I don't know how I would remove that EternaBond; it's really sticky stuff!
My shell should be here in another 4 weeks, or so. I'll post pics when it arrives, and gets installed.

 

Videos are great, but is actually a pretty simple mod. Hardest part about grill replacement are those fragile ass tabs that will break if you look at them wrong. I managed to not break any and feel pretty good about that....

Like I said I feel like it would be pretty straight forward. Just helps to know what is meant to be removed and what isn’t. As well as what breaks easy lol learn from others mistakes

 

Well as impatient as I am I’ll be doing it later this afternoon in the baking Florida sun. Feels good to work up a sweat though

 

Tires are 3% different circumference (now 265/70/17 BFG A/T vs stock 265/70/17 street tread TOYO's). I got over 24 mpg twice going to the mountains with stock tires. No complaints on my mpg. So when I fill up at 400 miles I have driven 413 miles.

 

Very very true...I'm glad all I had to do during the 115-120F heat index week was mow and water yard stuff...everything else outside was put on hold!

 

I'm curious, how do you calculate the actual miles driven? I went from stock 265/70/16 tires to 285/75/16. Thanks

 

I have averaged (with 6.4% add-on for tire difference) right around 19.7mpg with my current setup.

I am daily driving for 42.2mi, of which 36.1 miles is driven on the interstate with avg. speed around 65 (construction posted @55mph but flow runs around 65) with the rest of the interstate posted speeds of 65 and 70.

Additional info on the Taco...I have an automatic DCSB with 285/70r17 Goodyear Ultraterrain AT tires; with @SCSPerformance Stealth 6 wheels (including matching tire/wheel for spare) and @Mobtown Offroad bolt-on rock sliders...the other aspects really don't play into mpg/weight addition aspects.

The wife and I drove to NH and pitstopped for an evenings R&R in eastern CT (near Greenwich). We stayed on interstates (avoided NJ/95N going up, but went through NJTP/95S on our way home), and also pitstopped for the night at the same spot in CT. We averaged 21.9 mpg with the conversion.

You would take your miles driven (as well as miles per gallon) and multiply each by 6.8%, then add that number into your original miles or mpg.

I.e. 18.5mpg w/o conversion X 6.8% = 1.258
Now add 1.258 + 18.5mpg = 19.758 or ~19.8 mpg
I.e. 185mi w/o conversion X 6.8% = 12.58
Now add 12.58 + 185mile = 197.58 miles

Did you do the tap-in fuse (for parking monitor) or just straight hard wire it? I decided against parking monitor, as it is garaged and secured parking at work...mostly got mine for the dual cam action.
