The TW Ontario TEQ group is going to be hosting a Camping and Wheeling trip around North Bay Ontario on August 23/24/25

Everything is going to take place on VMUTS. It is all crown land so camping is anywhere.

VMUTS is a trail system, that anyone can use. You can ride horses, bikes, dirt bikes, 4wheelers, 4x4's. Anything. It is well marked, with hundreds of KM of trails to explore.

Purchasing a trail pass is recommended, to help the trails stay well marked and pay for maintenance that is required.

    VMUTS
    Trail Map for VMUTS

Camp sites will be determined once we know the number of total rigs coming along. I already have an idea of camping locations.

    Possible Campsite Locations:

    Campsite #1 Kearney Lake
    Campsite #2 Twenty Minute Lake
Campsite #3 Mc Dougle Provincial Park

Wheeling will be a mix of stock friendly, and hard as you want. Off shoots for more difficult obsticals are always options, trail choices will be selected once we have a final account of rigs coming. So we can accommodate everyone.

These trails are very well marked, everyone will be supplied a trail map. So if you just want to wheel by yourself you can. You dont have to stick with us!
Anyone is welcome to join in. :fistbump:

Suggested items if wheeling with the group:
    FRS/GMRS radio
    Bug spray
Appropriate gear for your vehicle/type of wheeling you plan on doing
(There are mud holes you can just bury your truck in if that is what you want, so you need to be able to recover out of it if you want to play in that.)
    :mudding:

Add your name into the list if you want to come along. Post any questions you have in the thread here or hit me with a conversation

Just noticed the Heffner Toyota meet is also on that weekend on Sunday according to the calendar. I was planning to attend that as well so figure I'll come for two days and drive back Saturday evening.

Even if it's only me I don't care  My plan is to wheel every free weekend I have this summer. Last year I felt was such a waste.

I have also added 2 more campsite possibilities.

The 3rd one (Mc Dougle Provincial Park) is a little farther towards Quebec but it is my favorite beach that the wife and I have found so far in our exploration.

Are you creating a route and camp spots as we go?

I need to know more about arrival times before I can do much

No need to create a route though, so many trails to explore. No limits!

We see shit we want to do we will do it! Maybe go on the route I have in my head. :cookiemonster:

We will plan a mix of fun off road and technical challenges, group can always split and regroup as the trails are well marked and we will have maps.

I thought it was like Ardbeg where we go back to camp. I like this way better. Keep wheeling and stop whenever and wherever we want.
    You mean like overlanding?

We will have a plan of trails to take for sure. But if we find something that we want to play on for 2 hours or something. We can do what ever we want.

Here are some trails numbers and stuff me and my buddy are thinking of. These # are all on the VMUTS trail map.

I dont know what time you guys plan on being here on Friday, I figured later in the evening.

We have not been on 93 and its listed as black, but we think its not that bad. We are going to run it this weekend maybe and take a peek.

What does "scrapey" mean? Tight trails with pinstripe?

    Exactly

Tech means technical trail, some spotting maybe required.

Ah ok. Figured "scrapey" could have also meant just a lot of skid plate hits. Are those routes as tight as Black Lake Loop? Would rather avoid pinstripes on my relatively new truck.
