No engine cover?

Searched with a dead end thread.

Any difference with removing the engine cover as far as circulation in the engine bay? I would assume without the cover it would just cycle the hot air that the cover keeps under it. Maybe not? I like the cover on there for the cleaner compartment look, but function > form . Thanks in advance for replies

 

If it made a difference, it would probably have come from the factory like that. I doubt it would do anything besides make the "toyota tick" more noticeable.

 

It makes little to no difference really.

The hot side are the manifolds and they are out in the open.

If you think it looks nice, keep it on there

i put in a kand n intake and dont have the cover i like the look with out the cover

I believe that car manufacturers have begun wrapping their once naked engines in pounds of invasive plastic is to A-"clean the look of the engine bay (by covering an otherwise beautiful engine)", and to B-"keep it cleaner. As dirt and dust will accumulate on the plastic and not the engine". I asked a mazda salesman about this once and that's what he said...

Seriously, wtf is the point of that? You can't access ANYTHING. And if you want to cover the engine, they came up with this great invention awhile ago called THE HOOD.

I doubt it does anything functionally. The supercharger kit requires the removal of the shroud so I'd ask one of them to weigh in on this.

 

My dads has been removed for about two years now. Havent noticed anything different.
