Maybe I’m being overly sensitive but every other vehicle I’ve had, even younger gen toys, are very well insulated. My 2018 has lots of road noise on the highway. Almost like my window is barely cracked open.

    Am I alone?

Mine is better than the 1st and 2nd Gens. No issues with noise.

Compared to the sportier cars I've owned up till this point the Taco is crazy quiet.

I test drove a 2012 and it was very loud, and the shifter had a squeak in it. I told the dealer this is annoying and loud. Its a no deal for me...A friend had a 2016 and it wasnt bad...

My 2018 Taco is by far the quietest vehicle I have ever owned. And I've owned lots.

Same here. I came from a BRZ most recently and that thing was really loud!

Mine is much quieter than my first or second gen.
It’s also way noisier than my wife’s new Accord.

There's vents behind the back seats that let in noise.

My daily driver is a Honda Civic with a fart can and some worthless racing motor mounts. It's a NVH nightmare. The Taco seems like a luxury car in comparison.

You have never owned a luxury vehicle then.
The roof has no insulation, and aside from the rear seats, there is very little insulation.

The first few messages are wildly conflicting in this thread. The third gen isnt quiet. For a truck? Not an issue.

Correct, I have not owned a luxury vehicle. My daily drivers for the last 35 years have been a f100, cj5, mustang, miata, impala ss, scion, brz and now the Tacoma. My wife drives a mini. All of those cars are vastly more noisy than my Tacoma. Don't even get me started on my 59 Rancho, 60 F100 or 73 TR6.... at least two of them don't really allow to talk to passengers because they are so loud! Frankly, I can't imagine a car quieter than my Tacoma. Maybe I will have to test drive a bentley or something and get some culture.
