I never thought my 3rd gen was noisy at all but I did add kill mat to the doors and rear cab wall only because I added new speakers and o boy what a difference you can really tell...

My 2018 is light years quieter than my 2002 ever was.

Comparing to my first gen tundra, third gen sequoia and my 2014 jeep, but as some of the more articulate have said...this is a truck.

This, sounds like an air leak though. Truck has 1002 miles on it and I hear crosswind noise like my window is cracked open. Just wondering if others have changed the door seals or...

Was planning on installing new speakers and amp in the next few weeks. Maybe some dynamat is in my future too

Thanks to all the honest answers out there

Installed a $2000 stereo so spent some time sound insulating the cabin to lessen rattles and squeaks. Insulated the floor, doors and rear cab with the Noico mats (not difficult just time consuming). Recently added some sound insulation matting to the door panels (a little overkill but it does help reduce road noise & rattles generated from loud bass). Will eventually get to the headliner.

My Taco is a bit louder than my previous BMW's but not unexpected. Big difference in the quality of plastic and OEM sound deadening material in the BMW door panels compared to the Taco. Adding aftermarket noise insulation definitely helps.

From loudest to quietest at highway speeds for me for current / past vehicles , it goes 06 impreza, 19 Tacoma, 14 Silverado, 17 Silverado, 19 Ram. It's not an intolerable amount of noise but definitely louder than my previous trucks.

It's not as quiet as my wife's 2016 Honda Pilot, but I don't think the noise in terrible either. Just took it on a 5400 mile road and it wasn't an issue noise wise or nothing else for that matter.

Why do we even have these threads. This is what the test drive is for. Will you feel better if you get sympathy for having such a horrible vehicle that sounds like a jet engine? It’s as bad as someone that says they want aggressive tires but then complain because the tires are loud.

Test drive in all typical or most likely driving conditions you will be in order to ensure you’re happy with your purchase.

You don’t want to read it, then don’t. I have spent countless hours reading on this forum trying to find answers and see more smart ass comments like this where it takes hours to weed through to get to any helpful content.

If you have nothing constructive to say then move on.

I did test drive. I missed something on it but I’m still going to ask the question. You want to add to your message Talley by being a prick, do it so where else

My 3G is much quieter than my 2G was.

Of course I’m older and deafer. So I’ve got that going for me. Which is nice.

I could care less about a message “Talley,” just making a point. It’s ok to get positive and negative feedback. You seen the decibel comparison to other trucks. It’s a nonissue or you can do sound dampening as you would with any other truck.
