I am ab it new here in the SC world but how do you decide with AFR gauge to get. Seems like there are a bunch of different types. Just when I thought I would be done the SC world takes control.

You go AEM and never look back. Innovate makes a good boost gauge as mine has been 100% issue free for the years I have owned it, but as far as I'm concerned, no one beats AEM for making a good QUALITY long blasting AFR unit.

Nice, I see now. You get the sensor can control or complete setup from places such as AEM, Innovate. I was looking at the gauges on speedhut. Liked the idea of customizing it. They do have their own but the other options are for adding to an existing one.

I DID buy an AEM boost gauge years ago and it broke after some months and I couldn’t get warranty. Something to do with me not being a professional mechanic installing it myself. But that said, I do think the risk of that happening is pretty small with AEM, they’re a good brand like you say. The gauge-style boost controller in my car works very well.

Another factor to consider is the ability for the wide band sensor to provide output for hptuner pro version for max functionality if you decide to go that route. I don't believe my speedhut gauges have the output.

The analog output? The standalone does not the other speed hit looks like are just gauges for AEM, innovate etc which I assume do have those outputs.

Trying to get some of this stuff squared away before the S/C arrives.

Also as I am reading through this rad thread you guys have put together any mods recommended right out of the gate or see how the S/C performs initially before diving in.

Def see some that I will do initially but debating on just getting it installed first.

Currently have the OV Tune on my N/A engine and was thinking of going to the TRD Tune, have not read too much up on HP Tuner Pro yet. Need to get my hands on a cable so I can get a tech stream download and avoid the bully tune.

I agree that bully dog should be avoided.

One quick easy thing would be to adjust the bypass valve before you put the blower on. Easy way to help maximize what you get from the stock configuration.

Other than that, like any car/truck project the sky is nearly the limit for mods you can do if you have all the money. The first page here covers some great basics and highly recommended and inexpensive mods, but a few of us have done other sometimes much more expensive mods to see how far we can take it.

Thanks, knowing myself it will end up in the deep end soon enough. Adding a few mods to start off with as you noted since the blower will already be off would be worth it.

I was thinking these would be good to do:
bypass valve adjustment - sounds like a must
bypass valve hose - based on notes tighten that up at least.
    OE billet tensioner - tbd
Filler Neck mod - seems like a useful mod
Probably now will add an exhaust - because now it matters.

Do yourself a favor and buy just a gauge if you can and go with a Denso AFR sensor. The Bosch supplied AFR sensors which usually come with the gauges are utter garbage.

Well, like anything there is bound to be some risk of a few defective items here and there, but between all of them and AEM or Speedhut, I would stay FAR away from Innovate.

Good call, my gauges have been a bit gremliny lately and I’ve been thinking I should get new sensors.

Good call I did read up on the posts you had about using the an update sensor. I do like the idea of the speedhut sensors and always been a fan of AEM in previous tuner life.

    AEM Controller
    https://www.aemelectronics.com/prod.../x-series-inline-wideband-uego-afr-controller

    Speedhut guage
    https://www.speedhut.com/gauge/GR-AFWB-02/1/Air-Fuel-Gauge-Wide-Band-8-5-18-(w--warning)-(FOR-AEM)

then pick up Denso AFR sensor.

Should be good to go? Pricy little suckers

It will! This thread is a wealth of experience in trouble shooting blower issues...

FYI: filming, driving, and shifting all at the same time at WOT is wicked challenging.
